Christmas Blessings

A highlight of the Christmas season is mailing and receiving holiday cards.  I LOVE going to the mailbox each day to see who has sent us a card.  We hang the cards we receive on our door leading out to the garage and around the kitchen windows-- and it makes me SO happy to see all the sweet smiling faces looking at us! The boys love to see them too, and to ask who is who and ask about the people in the pictures.  It warms my heart!

I would love to send out 500 cards, but I can't afford that! So, I will post ours here and wish you and yours a VERY Merry Christmas!!!!

 Much love!

Holiday STUFF

Couldn't come up with a better title for this post. A bunch of random stuff thrown together in the form of a blog post!!!

First up: Elf on the Shelf...

Our Elf, Manning, makes his appearance the day after Thanksgiving each year... this year he brought some placemats back out and some powdered "snowball' doughnuts...

Now, I wish I was one of those moms who was uber creative with their elf....each night coming up with some elaborate set up... but I am not.  I am more of a move-him-to-the-tree-and-then-to-the-mantle-then-back-to-the-tree kind of mom... but I have been TRYING this year to do a few things....

Here's a look at Manning this year...

Showing Andy that everybody poops!

Santa got Manning a football jersey so he set up a football game in the kitchen and played it while the boys were in school....

He sat high up in the kitchen windows where he could see it all...

He decorated the cabinets and sat up high...

He rode Sven and brought Frozen on Ice tickets...
Manning is great, but I don't think he is working quite as well as in years past.  I am hoping he isn't on the "outs." I will miss him...

Next up....

Cal had snack for his class last week. I tried to spice up boring snacks a little bit....I turned string cheese sticks into snowmen (Andy thought these were amazing)....

And I made little Grinch hats.... pinterest has you using a banana in between the grape and the strawberry, but I didn't want it turning brown before they could eat them.

Third thing to mention that's a holiday tradition around here is my parent's Christmas card attempts... always fun and hilarious to get all 5 cousins together for a picture.  This isn't their final one, but I thought it was adorable...

This was a different night, at the country club, for the Polar Express...same jammies, different night!

Another tradition we have is the love feast at church.. I wrote about that in a previous post....but had to include this picture in his post. SUCH a beautiful service.

And, my last little tradition I do is order a new phone case! I look forward to it every year!

A whooooole lotta randomness!

Weekend Update

This is going to be a lame weekend update...

Oh well!!!

Friday morning Andy was up at the crack of down (after not sleeping through the night...) and sat in front of the fire playing Candy Land by himself.  As awful as it is when he gets up after a rough night, there is something sweet about watching his little quiet time...

Because of hi slack of sleep, a nap was needed Friday afternoon.  He started on the couch and rolled off at some point...and stayed asleep.

Randomly, I was texting with a friend and she invited us out to eat with them Friday night.  Eddie was out of town for the weekend, so we went to Monterry with the Fitch fam! The boys had THE best time- clearly.

Poor David got stuck in between these two wild animals.  He's such a good sport- he didn't even complain!

Then he walked them out to the parking lot.

Friday night, Manning brought a special treat.... he came in riding Sven carrying 4 tickets to Frozen on Ice!

I bought these tickets back in May and totally100% forgot about them.  My mom agreed to go with us since Eddie was gone-- and I think mom and I loved it more than anyone there- ha!

After the boys saw the tickets, we had to get ready to go.  While I was in the shower, Andy came in to the bathroom and told me he was dressed and ready to go! A woody hat, a power ranger mask and a robin costume.   Thankfully we had to switch out of jammies and he forgot about the costume (until we were driving down 40 to get there...then he wanted it on immediately!)

We had to get some cotton candy that came with these little Olaf hats.  Most expensive cotton candy ever- ha! Worth it to see these smiles with these hats.

Mom and the Olafs

My peeps...

The boys tossed the hats so mom and I wore them-- and cracked ourselves up.... it's the little things, really...

The show is starting!!!

Andy was in a trance most of the show... he didn't love the snow monster, but he loved the rest of it!

Saturday night I headed out for dinner and a Christmas party.  It was SUCH a fun night!!!

I took hardly any pictures, but I did get one of me and my girl!!!

Sunday, I spent the day not feeling great because of said party.  I cleaned house and took both kids to the grocery store....maybe that's why my head was hurting....

Sunday night was the Love Feast at church.  We were all dressed up and I did not take one picture! So mad at myself! It was a wonderful-- but HOT-- service.  It's my favorite service of the year and one I look forward to for weeks.

'tis the season!!
