Party (weekend) Time!

Saturday morning, we had Andy's party at the pool.  It was a little chilly at first, but it warmed up quickly and ended up being perfect!

Here was the invitation for the party:

We gave all of the kids HUGE bouncy balls with their names written on them and they were a huge hit.  Andy LOVES those balls and it turns out, the other kiddos do too! Here are some pictures from the day:

we tried to hang the banner, but the wind was WHIPPING through there. also, you can see the balls behind the cupcakes...
I got there early with my parents to set up, and Eddie brought the boys with my mother and sister-in-law.  When they walked in, Andy's eyes were watering NON-stop.  I guess he got some sunscreen in his eyes and they turned bright red and were like faucets, bless his heart.  Everyone thought he was sick since his eyes looked so terrible.  He still managed to have fun!

That night, we had my parents over to have dinner with us and Eddie's mom and sister.  We grilled out and ate in my dining room (something we never do... in fact, it was out first time sitting in those chairs!).  I love when we are all together...
Andy opened presents and was super happy after a great nap, a HUGE dirty diaper (the grandmas had to double team clean him up!) and a nice bath.  His eyes were clear and he had a great time.

a rocking boat-- super cool!

loving the box where the beanbag chair come from

in a trance watching grandpa open his gift from cb
Sunday, Eddie hit the golf course, so we went back to the pool.  I have a feeling we will be spending a lot of time there this summer! Andy was much happier today, with screen-free eyes, so I had to take a few more of him...

check out those teeth!

cal was working on his jumping skills.  Please notice the "1 FT" sign.

he is ONE!
That night, after dinner, I handed him a cupcake because I really wanted him to smash one... he ate more of this one than the one earlier at the pool, but he ended up feeding quite a bit of it to Hankers.

you mean I get to eat this??

i'm gonna get you....you going down,  cake!

It was a fun weekend and now I am worn out! Heading to bed right now!!!

Mom's 60th par-tay

My mom is not 60 yet...she still has a few weeks to go, but Friday night, we celebrated her and had a fabulous time doing so!

This party was a big deal for a lot of reasons...

First- you only turn 60 once-- you better do it up right! (right?!)
Second- she's my mom...obviously I want to help throw her a big ol' celebration
Third, and most importantly- my mom is one of those people who always does everything for everyone.  If someone is in need of something (anything!), my mom is always the first to volunteer.  My mom spends her days doing whatever she can to make others feel special and loved, and now it was OUR time to make sure she felt special and loved...and we wanted her to know how much we appreciate HER!

My mom is the party planning queen, and she was not happy being out of the loop with this event.  She knew it was happening-- we KNEW better than to attempt to surprise her!

Anyway-- it was a fabulous night and we had a great time celebrating such a special lady.  (theme was Hawaii 6-0!)
