Action-packed weekend

Eddie was out of town this past week from Thursday to Sunday and we had an event-filled weekend planned, starting with Thursday.

THURSDAY:

My dear sweet friend lives in Greensboro and her dad was having knee surgery in Raleigh and she needed to be there.  Her child care situation fell through and she knew we would love to have an extra buddy around! Fenton came over around 9:30 and we had a ton of fun.  We went to the gym, to the park, home for lunch and naps, and then play time in the driveway!

Andy ran into his girlfriend, Sophie at the park...

This next pic about sums up the day:
 As does this one:

Last week, I sorted our entire playroom and categorized things into the bins on the shelves.  I was so proud of the organizing! I was cleaning up from lunch and heard a whooooole lotta commotion coming from the playroom.  The boys dumped each and every single bin-and dragged out everything in the closet- into the middle of the playroom.  I was so not very happy.

Andy finally gave in for his nap-- and I say finally because it was WORK to get him asleep! He looks so spent in this picture...

After a short nap, we headed out to the driveway to play in the sun! Andy is back to loving his bike.  After his spill at the beach when he face planted, he was a little nervous about riding, but now he's back to his fearless self.

Cal has mastered his name and decided he wanted to write his brother's name! It really amazes me how different boys and girls are of the same age-- several girls in Cal's class write all of their friends names along with their family member's names, etc.... I am thrilled to death that Cal can write these two names-- it's fabulous in my book! ha! We just keep encouraging him and helping him practice.

Julie came to pick up Fenton and we had both had a long day at this point...SO, a glass of wine was had in the driveway, in the sunshine.  Is there anything better? Too bad she had to drive back to Greensboro....we could have stayed there for several bottles...I mean glasses.... nahhhh, I totally meant bottles.

FRIDAY:

I taught by first Popup workout class Friday morning! Woohoo! It was super fun and I really enjoyed "teaching" again.  I was a ball of nerves, but so excited still.  After class, a HUGE storm rolled through and I got drenched running to my car.  I headed home for a quick shower and then to pick up the boys.   About 3:30 rolled around and I was DEAD.  I was so so so worn out.  I decided to let myself rest for a few minutes and Hank decided to join me.

I am not sure if I was tired from the workout or from teaching or from the wild boys.... but I was spent! ha!

At 4, my brother called saying the kids wanted to get together.  We agreed to meet over at my parent's house to let the kids play in the driveway, riding bikes and playing....I wanted to wear my kids out so they would be good and ready for BED when we got home!

Catherine got a booboo on her leg and got a princess band-aid.  The Williamson boys requested one too:

You would think that Andy had been snorting sugar by his face in this picture... not sure the reason for the crazy eyes....

The boys did great riding bikes-- Cal is really starting to get the hang of riding his without training wheels! He is getting more comfortable on it, which is what I want!

My mission was accomplished.  The boys came home and ate a quick dinner and crashed in their beds.  I checked in on Cal and he was like this:

SATURDAY:

We bought tickets to go to the circus before we knew Eddie would be out of town.  I invited my mom to join us and thankfully she agreed! The show was at 11 and the boys were excited!

Andy was IN AWE the entire show-- this kid doesn't sit still for much, and he was frozen in place for the circus! He did not sit in his own seat, like in this picture-- he spent most of his time on my mom 's lap.  He was pointing everything out screaming "YOOK!!!!" It was pretty awesome!

Cal loved it too! We went with the Gross family so Cal and Owen sat next to each other and they were giggling the entire time.

The kids got popcorn and sat shoveling it in for the whole show.  They were ALL quite content!

Andy and I at intermission-- I wanted him to walk around in case he got the wiggles in the second half.

Mr. Dustin got the kids a snow cone at intermission-- they split one with two straws and thought it was the greatest thing ever.

The circus ended around 1:20 and we headed home for nap time.  Thankfully, Andy stayed awake in the car on the way home.  He crashed as soon as his head hit the pillow.  I had to wake him up at 4 to make it to a birthday party at 4:30! (it was such a busy weekend)

We dropped Cal off at my parents house and Andy and I went to the little gym for some fun.  He was half asleep when we got there...

But woke right up when we walked in and he saw all of the fun! It was dangerous going right after the circus-- Andy wanted to do all of the things the performers did! He walked on the balance beam like the tight rope walkers....

Jumped on the bouncy thing like the guys on the trampoline....

And tried to scare his mother by doing other insane things...

The kids had pizza and cake and sang happy birthday to Charlie!

We picked up Cal on the way home and I also got to go sushi.  After getting the kids in bed, I set up my sushi and watched a few shows before crashing....

SUNDAY:

The boys were up and at um early and they were hungry! I made everyone cheese eggs and they were gobbled up quickly by these growing boys.

We spent the morning over at a park with the Conners.  We took our bikes over there to let Cal practice even more.  Brad is an extremely skilled two wheeler-- it's crazy! I was hoping Cal would see Brad ride and would want to learn to ride like him.  It worked for the most part! Cal is anxious to ride more and more! We had a great time wearing out the kids and then we had lunch at firehouse subs before heading home for naps.

Again, I had to wake Andy from his nap so that we could go get Eddie at the airport and then head to another birthday party!

The kids had SO much fun at this party.  I took a bunch of Andy too, but I think he was running around too much because all of his were blurry!

It was a fun and busy and exhausting weekend.  I fell asleep last night (Sunday) around 9:30.  The life of the party, I tell ya.

I am loving the weather warming up and the sun shining....! Makes me so excited for SPRING!

The chef's table

Our country club offers a thing called "chef's table" where you sit in the kitchen with the chef and he prepares a several course meal and pairs each course with wine, etc... we did one a long time ago and got to do another one Saturday night!

We had the best time with good friends!

The girls before sitting down (we were unable to sit in the kitchen due to Valentine's Dinner at the club being moved from Friday to Saturday-- but it all worked out perfectly!)

The couples around the table:

Susan and Dustin:

Ashly and Scott:

Sally and Bryan:

Me and my man:

We had our last course in the kitchen with the chef-- and it was amazing!

Clearly, wine was involved.  Clearly.

And we ended the night at the club bar playing cards against humanity with the head of food and beverage and the chef-- and it was to die for funny.  We were ALL crying we were laughing so hard!

SUCH a fun night with good food, good wine, and GREAT friends!!!

#carriedaway: week 6

Week 6:

Day 36: this one...worked me today. No nap and full of energy and naughtiness.  Thank goodness he is cute!!!

Day 37: the crack each other up.

Day 38: fairly certain I couldn't have picked a worse picture of me...But getting kisses from these two makes everything better.

Day 39: hank feels safer upstairs

Day 40: he insisted on vacuuming. Who am I to argue?

Day 41: rain rain, go away...

Day 42: he was looking so old today. But he's definitely still two. Still a (terrible) two year old.
