Life lately/ weekend update

We had a pretty lowkey weekend, so I am combining posts and doing a Life Lately post instead!

Andy's Lala has been to more places than a lot of humans... she went with us to Disney World, Mexico twice, Aruba, Texas, Arizona, and on and on and on.  Early on in Andy's life, when it became apparent that he was going to be attached to this thing, I went on a hunt to find a replacement, should we ever lose her.   And wouldn't you know it, I could NOT find the replacement...anywhere! I contacted the giver of the gift and asked where she got it, and then send my dad on a hunt to those stores, which were down at the beach-- no luck.  I searched online. I always checked stuffed animal sections of toy stores, just in case.  A replacement lala just wasn't happening.  And then he got older and while he still loooooves his lala, he loves his pillow too, and I *think* he would be okay without lala....however, I am not ready to take that chance yet! HA!

Fast forward to this past week.  I was in Learning Express and waiting on a gift to be personalized so I walked through the store...and wouldn't you know it.  I spotter her.  It was hard to recognize her because a clean one is MUCH softer and whiter and nicer! Other than the eyes being slightly different, it's a brand spanking new lala.

I didn't buy her.  I took a picture and sent it to my mother in law, just commenting on how nice a new lala looks.  She sweetly insisted that I go back and buy it, if for no other reason than just to have it for comparison.  Then I spent the next hour looking through instagram pictures where lala made an appearance.... these are just a few...I have many MANY more (and if I decided to go back in my jump drive, I am sure I would have hundreds of pictures with lala!)

(these all make me want to cry, by the way.....where is my little baby?!?!?!?)

wahhhhhhhh!!!!! Aren't those sweet?? So, I guess I am find of ol' Lala  Andy can be so difficult and as a baby, he was tough (things haven't changed!), but lala was one thing that would always make him happy-- and would calm him down.

So we ran by Learning Express after school and we bought a new lala.  But Cal insisted on getting a stuffed animal too (he doesn't even like stuffed animals....) and I let him because my Mother in Law was buying and I knew she would kill me if I didn't get one for him too-- #sheisanequalopportunityspoiler #thankfully

I present to you....Coconut and Rascal!

These two were sooooo excited about these stuffed animals!

Yes, he buckled the bear in with him...

Thursday night, Fitch Lumber had a family night and we went by and had so much fun! The boys made some garden art, a bird feeder and a squirrel feeder.  They were busy and super happy.

Friday was an awesome day! DA does a "grand friends" day every year for their 3rd graders.  This sweet, sweet girl asked me if I would be her grand friend! And I was SUPER honored! I had the best time learning about her state for her state project and walking about her school with her.  Could she be any cuter? And the kicker? She could not be sweeter.  She is sweet AND cute. #winningcombo

She made her state project and part of it was making a notebook... this was the front page:

I may or may not have let out a huge gasp and I may or may not have teared up.  It was so touching-- such an honor, I tell ya!

After they walked us around the school showing us various things, the kids all went to get dressed for the state presentation portion.  They had to dress up like someone from their state.  P had Pennsylvania and she dressed up like Jackie O.  She nailed it!

I had the very best time with P and her family! She totally made my Friday!

Friday night, Cal had a tennis match at the country club.  He played on a far court so it was hard for me to see him... but he had a blast again and continues to say tennis is his favorite sport!

Saturday, I taught a kidspop class and then headed to the boys soccer game.  Cal was super into it and scored several goals.  It's been fun watching him gain confidence playing.  Hard to believe when we started playing, he wouldn't go near the ball... now it's hard to get him away from the ball!

We came home and the boys did a whole lot of wrestling with Bruce:

We went out to eat Saturday night with Tommy and Tricia and we were CELEBRATING because they put an offer on a house and it was accepted! Looks like they are here to stay!!!! wooohooo!

Ready to go to dinner:

Everyone was tired on Sunday... easy like a Sunday morning!

On a personal note (what isn't personal on this blog?!), I would appreciate some prayers Monday morning.  My dad is having surgery. I won't go into details on here, but prayers lifted up for great doctors and a speedy recovery would be MUCH appreciated! thank you xoxo
