Soccer

On a side note, I got my camera back... The guys at Geek Squad wanted to check it out to make sure it was really fixed (uhhh...okay), so while that was going on, this is the craziness that was happening behind me.

welcome to my life.  andy was on the table in no time.

That, and Andy sprinting away from me every chance he got.
good thing he is cute.
Turns out the camera wasn't really fixed at all.  Wow.  BUT, the first day of school was tomorrow and I was going to make the camera work because I couldn't rely on iPhone pics for the FIRST day of school! So I will have to take it back to them to send back out and I will be camera-less for another 3 weeks....grrrrr...............

We signed Cal up for soccer this fall and we are all really excited about it! He went to Jackson's games last year and really loved watching (and really wanted to play), so we had a feeling he would enjoy it.

We had our first practice this week and it was a ton of fun.  I took Cal to buy shin guards and a ball the day before.  He called his shin guards his "engines" because "they make me super speedy!"

Practice was on Wednesday, and thankfully my mom offered to keep Andy so that I could be there with Cal.  I wanted to take pictures and be able to encourage him without chasing a wild one all around the field.

Cal is still a bit young to play this year-- his birthday was after the cutoff, but I just played a little dumb and no one said anything.... do de do.....

He joined a wonderful team and the coaches are awesome! I feel so lucky to have him a part of this team.  The coaches are super organized and energetic and caring-- all things that are needed in a coach of little ones.

playing an introduction game
cal noticed other kids sitting on their balls so he did it immediately too.
just making sure momma is still nearby
I took a billion pictures of the practice.  It was reallllly hot and I was sweating like a fool.... but I gotta say, it was awesome to watch my little guy running around out there having so much fun.

love this stretching shot

learning to dribble-- running like a carrot-- no hands. When I asked him his favorite part of practice, he said "dibbing"

water break!

Also, like this (tacky) shirt? Cal asked to see the shirt when we were in Target.  He was sitting in the cart and I thought he just wanted to look at it.  I was picking out a card and when I looked back, Cal had the shirt on and the tags ripped off.  So we got ourselves a MATER shirt!

it is so hard to get the ball OUT of the goal...

doing the Heffalump cheer... see Cal?? No? See next pic as to why not...

THERE HE IS!
We were supposed to have the first game tomorrow morning, but the fields were flooded in a storm last night and they are closed...bummer!

This will not be the last post you read about soccer, I am sure!
