Weekend Update! (a few days late....)

So, it isn't Monday. Sue me. Sometimes Weekend Updates happen on a Wednesday.  Oh well!

Thursday night, Bruce was up...a lot...with an upset tummy.  Eddie manages to not hear/sleep through the barks, so I was up with him at 1, 3 and 5... along with the kids at various times, but that's a different story.  When I came home on Friday, I was pretty exhausted-- I walked in to find B in his crate, zonked out, not a care in the world.  Being up all night took its toll on him too!

Friday, we headed to the club for kids club.   Our favorite waiter is leaving the club so we all got together and had a little "party" for him.  We brought him a cake and got him a card.
Lou, me, Pippa, Hugo, Virginia, Meredith, Sally and Tracy

Saturday was soccer game central; Andy had a game at 9, Cal had games at 10 and 11. I took zero pictures during Andy's game because I was coaching.  I took this picture during Cal's first game-- and that was the only one... oops!

During his second game I was cutting out box tops (more on that later) so I didn't take any pictures again.  But I did get this one of Brad, Cal and Harrison.
I love watching this team play soccer-- they are a GREAT group of kids and they seem to all really play well together- and they also seem to truly enjoy the sport.

We came home and did a little cleaning, but then I had to run to the toy store to get presents for the 18 birthday parties Cal had this weekend.  Okay, that's an exaggeration-- there were only three.  But still.  The first was Saturday afternoon at the bowling alley.  Cal had a blast and thought it was a lot of fun.

Saturday afternoon, we headed over to Tricia and Tommy's house to watch some football, eat dinner and hang out.  They got a new fire pit so we also cooked s'mores with them- the boys loved it!

They stayed up late Friday night at the club and again Saturday night-- bed time was calling this fools when we got home.

Eddie left Sunday morning to go kite surfing at the beach.  As luck would have it, Bruce had another round of upset stomach Saturday night.  I was up with him many, many times.  Sunday morning solo was TOUGH.  But we all survived, of course! Eddie called me from the beach and asked if I was still in bed (this was at like 11:00...).  I said, uhhh, no... we are all showered and dressed and we've been to the grocery store and are now on our way to a birthday party at the baseball field.  He said he would have spent the entire day on the couch.  And that, my friends, is proof that women are MUCH tougher than men! hahaha There is a reason I am the one to get up with the kids every (single...!) night.  He would not be able to function the next day.  Bless his heart.  Right?

I realize I am nowhere near a fashion blogger.  Hell, most days, if I were to do an "outfit of the day" post, it would be of me in zella workout pants and a workout top and sneakers.   I am fairly lame in my attire.

But I had to post this cute shirt I got... I love the plaid and the button/snaps that look like old timey western shirts with the pearl snaps.  This shirt will be seen a bunch in the upcoming months, I believe...
oh yeah-- and it was from costco for like $11.  ummmhmmmm, that's right.  Suck it fashion bloggers...!!!

(totally kidding, fashion gurus... I am envious of your ability to execute selfies like that.  The above picture was so damn awkward.  Clearly, I am not meant to be in your genre of blogs!)

So after the awkward selfie, we headed to the UNC baseball game for another birthday party...! This was a scrimmage so the stadium was very empty and the boys had the run of the place.

It was a seriously gorgeous day to be outside.  The sky was the most beautiful blue and the sun felt so nice-- definitely not too hot.  I love fall in NC.
All of the kiddos went down on the field for the singing of the National Anthem.  I thought this was adorable... all of the players are lined up on the left, and all of the party goers are on the right.  If you can zoom in, you can see both boys standing there.

The game started and the boys were thirsty.  Sara had some sprites, which they both enjoyed-- I happened to look over (told you stands were empty!) and see them both slurping them down.

We left early and I tried hard to get a picture of the boys, but neither one felt like cooperating for me.

The plan was to leave early, meet Eddie at the house and head to the beer fest that my brother was helping put on, and then leave that for a birthday party.  Eddie got home later than we thought, and then he had to get dressed and we headed to the fest later than planned, so we missed the birthday party- but we tried!

The sky was still a gorgeous shade of blue-- Andy came over for a picture break-- he was in the best mood all day.
My parents were there and my mom insisted on taking a picture of me and Chris- just like old times. And I am so glad she did.  I love my big brother.  The punk.  (just kidding... he's totally not a punk.)

We had everyone in bed early on Sunday and I sat and continued working on the box tops.  Kristen, my coworker at Westminster, is in charge of all of the box tops for the elementary school.  People turn these things in and they will just rip off half of a cereal box instead of cutting around the dotted line. Or they turn in one that expired in 2006.  It is quite a task that she has, so I offered to help her.  She did not hesitate to let me help, and I totally get why now! ha! I had a HUGE bag filled with box tops they needed cutting, sorting and counting.  After they are all cut and trimmed up and the expired ones are sorted out, they are put into bags of 50.  I worked on these for several hours and finally completed it.  I think we do this twice a year. It is worth it because this makes SO much money for our school!

Pretty lame weekend, but I'll take it! We needed that around here.  The weather is amazing right now and it makes me so happy! We are wearing lots of layers because the mornings are cool, but the afternoons are warm-- makes for more laundry (I can't believe how much more laundry I have!), but it also makes for some awesome outside time!

Here's to another week!
