Weekend Update: ATX!

Oh.My.WORD! What a fun weekend!!! We had way too much fun celebrating our sweet Pippa.  It was the nicest little getaway and we all loved Austin.  Pippa spent her 20s in Austin and that's why she wanted to go there for her 40th-- plus she had some friends that she knew when she lived there that joined us for all of the festivities.

Please pardon my picture overload-- I went a little crazy, I know.   It's just when you get together with your closest friends on a trip like this, it is something you never want to forget- you know??

We flew out Friday morning early! We grabbed a drink in the hotel bar while we waited for the others to show up:

We then headed to lunch at a super cute Mexican restaurant down the street:

We walked back to the hotel, stopping in some little shops along the way.  We grabbed a quick rest and then got dressed to head out! Here's our birthday girl!

In the lobby before going out:

One of the Texas girls had these napkins made (mom, ignore the language!!!). We thought they were hilarious!

We sat down and Pippa's husband had ordered champagne for the table-- love this pic of her!

And then we had a shot called Fire in the Hole-- it is taken out of a jalapeno pepper and chased with some kind of juice.  It was scary looking, but actually good!
  Cheers! Bottoms up...

We sat out on a porch and the wind picked up and it got kind of chilly.  But we were having too much fun to really care.

Some of us took an open air cab thingy and tried to get a picture of all of us-- it turned out really well...

We danced the night away at an 80s bar... I mean......

We spent Saturday at Lake Austin Spa. Oh, holy cow, was this place amazing.  It was beyond amazing.

We checked in and then did our treatments and then all met back up for lunch out on this little patio.  The weather was INCREDIBLE.

We had the nicest lunch while just enjoying being around each other.  Such a treat!

My face hurt when the day was over from laughing so hard.

Then everyone kind of did whatever they wanted. The four of us walked down to the lake (still in our robes, because, duh) and found some hammocks.

It was truly heavenly. We sat here talking and laughing about anything and everything.

And then the other hammock got off balance....
 going, going, going....
 gone!
I might have went my pants at this point.

Soaking in the warm sun!

We headed back to the hotel and showered up.  We went to another fun restaurant for dinner...and more margaritas....

My sweet MereFitch- love love love

I love all of these girls soooo much.  This one though-- not sure anyone can make me laugh quite as hard as she can.   Rarely are we together that someone isn't crying from laughing really hard.

DO YOU SEE WHAT I MEAN?!?!?!?! This made us laugh so hard we couldn't breathe.  And then I was going through these pictures this morning and when I got to this one, I started laughing so hard I had tears coming down my face.  And I can guarantee you when Sally reads this post, she will start laughing hysterically too.

We had a SUPER yummy dinner and then we headed back to the hotel bar where we had SUCH a fun time-- apparently the bar in our hotel is the highest producing bar in Austin- who knew?! We did some serious people watching and I took about a million pictures of the people we were watching.  I will refrain from posting them on here... but just know there was a women in her very late 40s wearing a bra like bustier that was studded.  She had a fur vest on and the young (YOUNG) man she was with kept touching her.  Like a lot.  I felt it needed documentation.  Oh the laughing.

We woke up on Sunday morning and a few of us went for a walk around the river- it was beautiful!!!! It seemed everyone in Austin was out and about and it was a great way to see a bunch of the city.  This walk was a highlight-- and it felt good to sweat out some of our sins.

As soon as we finished, we had to hustle to pack up and get to the lobby. We headed to airport and flew through Dallas. In Dallas we stopped for lunch and we figured we should keep the sins coming.

We got home Sunday night-- and as nice as it was to get away, it is so nice to come home to these crazy boys.  I missed them and I've gotten some sweet snuggles since being back.

This girls trip made me laugh until my stomach hurt. It also made me realize how beyond lucky I am to have women like this in my life-- real, honest, funny, caring, wonderful, do anything they can for you women.  LOVE YOU ALL!
