The Pumpkin Patch!

This past Saturday, some kids from Cal's play group were going to Gaynard Farm, a little pumpkin patch in the area, for a little change of pace.  Eddie was playing in a golf tournament, so I was solo with the boys.  I was a little hesitant to take them by myself since there are several things that Cal would need assistance, but Sally was going, and promised me she would help out if needed (aren't friends the best??  THAT is how you do it with kids-- you have great friends that are willing to help you...).

So, Saturday morning, we got dressed and headed out to the farm! I will write more this week after Cal's two week check up, but he has become SO opinionated in what he will and will not wear.  The outfit in these pictures was a HUGE battle.  He thinks the shorts are "golf shorts" so he demanded to wear them.  It was chilly out, but he refused to wear pants... and he also insisted upon wearing the TCU zip up.  After the battle with the shorts, I gave in.  Whatever.

We had a wonderful time at the farm!  They have goats you can feed, a tunnel slide thing (which I thought Cal would want nothing to do with, but he went to it immediately!), and lots and lots of pumpkins!

Riding down the tunnel slide-- he stuck his feet out to slow him wayyy down!  I waited at the bottom and Avi's dad helped him at the top (thank you!).

Checking out the goats-- doesn't he just look like a little rascal???  FULL OF TROUBLE. (oh, and the hat is part of the "I am two and will dress myself" phase.  He insisted on wearing it and putting on himself...)
It's hard to get too mad though... check out this face:

he took the hat off for me for a few pictures... I have been having fun playing with editing...
After riding the slide and looking at the goats, Cal spotted Brad on the other side and he took off running.  They have these little cow cutouts and the big one has udders that you can actually "milk."  Brad knew what to do with these....Cal just watched.
Then the best buds had to hug....
 On top of the slide
Andy was chilling in the stroller-- my little chunkerton....
After playing around for a while, the whole group went for a tractor hay ride.  They were SO cute on the tractor!  I had Andy in the Bjorn so my hands were a little full so Sally took over photo duty (thank you!).  This was where I was needing major assistance.  My friends immediately offered to help Cal up on to the tractor and got him situated while I was strapping Andy in.
The ride took us over to a corn maze and dropped everyone off and picked up on the other side of the maze for the ride back to the farm.  The moms decided to stay on the tractor while the dads took all of the kids through the maze-- once again, SO thankful for friends there to chase after Cal!

And, horrible picture of me, but I had to document that Andy was there as well!  The sun was in his eyes, so I held the hat over him.  He fell asleep by the end of the ride.
Don't they just look like they are up to no good?
Mr. Dustin walking Cal out of the corn maze (thank you!!)...
He's a happy kid (when he isn't acting like a two year old)
After the tractor ride, we picked out a pumpkin.  They are actually growing from the ground, and you get to pick yours off of the vine-- pretty neat!  Cal picked his out, and Brad's daddy helped him retrieve it and load it on the stroller (thank you!!!).  Both boys were tired by this point and Cal was actually asking to get in the stroller.  I loaded up the double stroller and took one last picture of both boys and our pumpkin and we headed home for naps!
It was SUCH a beautiful day and I loved spending the time outside with our friends.  Sally- I know you read this, so THANK YOU for all of your help at the farm (and every other place!).

This fall weather is WONDERFUL!  I love it and wish it would stick around for a long time.
