Summer Regional Meeting

Every summer, Eddie's company takes all advisors and their families on a little meeting.  We are so lucky we are able to tag along-- many companies don't allow families to go too! This summer, like last, we headed to Myrtle Beach for some fun in the sun!

We drove down Thursday after the boys had soccer camp (Cal) and Vacation Bible School (Andy).  We hit the road and got to Myrtle Beach just in time for Eddie to go to a meeting.  Thankfully, they had child care for the meeting (since spouses were supposed to attend too...!), so I sent the boys and I unloaded the car and unpacked.

We had a dinner that night that was an 80s theme.  We were lame and didn't dress up.  Sweet Nora did, with her side ponytail.  Andy and Nora are buddies from school...

...Nora has no idea what she's in for with this one....

That night, the boys crashed in the same bed and I loved how they were touching each other.  They literally spent the day hitting, kicking, punching, biting and yelling at each other.  But when push comes to shove (soooo literally....), they really do love each other.

We woke up Friday morning and I had a meeting for the spouses and the boys went to play with the childcare for a little bit. After I got them, we were all itching to hit the beach.  We got dressed and headed down:

They were each given a boogie board and they were HUGE hits.  The boys spent the entire weekend on these things.

I had a VERY hard time taking pictures of the boys.  They were both in the water and it was rough and I spent my time spinning my head back and forth.  Thankfully my mom was down there to help until Eddie got out of his meetings.  I was SUPER relieved to see him walking down the beach when he was out! ha!

I earned a beer (or 5) by this point.

Our crew... I was a happy lady having these people around me.  The boys were happy, Eddie was happy, I was HAPPY!

We came up to the room to shower and get ready for dinner- we bathed the boys and gave Cal his iPad.  Andy was out instantly... Eddie was shortly behind him.

I was trying to take a picture of Andy and Cal wanted to make sure he was really asleep...sigh.  He had been sound asleep for awhile when he did this.  Thankfully, Andy continued sleeping away.

We got the boys up and got everyone dressed and headed to dinner.  I took zero pictures that night.  Fail.  We had a fun time, though everyone was pretty exhausted after such a big day! We decided to switch up the beds the next night (they were full-sized beds...felt SO much smaller than twins!). Andy slept with me and Cal slept with Eddie.  When I went to get in bed, Andy had spun himself around.  He was hanging off the bed onto the chair.  And he continued spinning all night long.  Maybe that's why he doesn't sleep through the night? He spins around and wakes himself up??

Saturday, we got up and got out early! Cal was on this thing NONSTOP.  He was so content riding the waves! He had all kinds of chaffing in his shorts.  I told him to take a break from the water and he said, "but mom! It's my favorite part!" Hard to argue that...

Chris and his family were down there too, but I didn't get any pictures of them! I think every time we were all together it was too crazy to take pics.  I did get this one of my parents with Margaret and Andy.... sweet picture...

Saturday night we had the awards dinner... it was fun to get dressed up with my hubby.  I looooove this dress (I know that's probably tacky to say I love my own dress....but I don't even care! I love it!)

it's from anthropologie and it is just so fun! We ran into my parents on the way to the dinner so we had a guy take some pictures of us on the stairs.  Looking down is not a good look...

My mom was looking adorable...

I am a blessed lady to have these parents.  They are truly the best.

One more picture with my date... I am proud of him and his awards.  He works so hard and I am thankful the company recognizes those who get it done!

One more of my sweet parents...

After the dinner, they opened up the dance floor for some dancing, but the child care ended at 10, so we had to go claim the boys !

We walked in and found this.... sweet little nug found a blanket, got in a ball, and passed out.  Bless his heart.  He played so hard all day long with no nap.  We knew he was exhausted, but we've never seen this happen.  There were people all around the room and he just crashed.

It was a fun weekend with great people.  I loved the time with my family and my parents! Next year we aren't going to Myrtle Beach, so it will be fun exploring a new place!
