A day in the life...

A long time ago, I did a day in the life post... I am sure it is a complete bore to read, but it is fun to go back a year later and read what a typical day was like then vs. now.  This was a random Tuesday last week...

Everyone was up by 7... both boys were up in the night (for no reason at all), so we were a bit sleepy this morning (although we should totally be used to not sleeping through the night by this point!).

Eddie had an early appointment so I got the boys breakfast and then came back upstairs to get dressed and make beds.  I had to take a picture of Eddie's dresser-- do any other husbands NOT shut their drawers?? I have no idea why he doesn't shut them-- it used to bother me to no end to walk into our room-- all picked up and bed made-- to see his dresser looking like this, but now I just think it's funny!

After picking up the upstairs and getting everyone dressed, we headed to get Cal a MUCH needed haircut.  His shirt was itching him in the car afterwards, so he had to take it off...

After the haircut, Cal went over to a friend's house for a playdate,  I dropped him and then ran to Harris Teeter with Andy to pick up a few things.  He sat in the big part of the cart and helped pick out what we needed-- notice he is holding the brownie mix.

Our AC wasn't working, so we had an air company coming over to take a look.  I was teaching a popup class Tuesday night, so I planned my workout while we waiting on the air people and Andy colored in some coloring books while Hank watched on.

Cal came home around noon and had a special treat for lunch: lunchables! I very rarely get these so they gobble them up when I do...

Andy said he was tired after lunch and wanted to rest on the couch.  After about 5 minutes, they were feeling well-rested and ready to run wild.

The boys went upstairs to play in the playroom (they were supposed to be resting...ha), and I tackled the fun task of cleaning the downstairs bathroom.  My father in law is here this weekend so our guest bath needed some serious attention.  With all these boys in this house, there is always pee on the floor around the potty.  Someone is always seeming to miss their target!

It's a glamorous life I live: scrubbing toilets and mopping up pee!

I went up to switch the laundry and check on the boys and found all three of them on the couch... this didn't last long.  It makes me love Hank even more.  He was just hanging out with them up there.

Andy got up to run sprints or throw stuff and took his pillow with him.  Hank scooted even closer to Cal.  The two of them stayed like this for over an hour.

At 3:15, Cal had tennis practice.  He has it every Tuesday/Thursday and he LOVES it! I am sure part of the reason he loves it is because of these two below.... the three stooges have a blast together.

We were planning on having soccer at 5, but while sitting at tennis, I got the text that the soccer fields were closed due to the rain over the weekend.   We headed to the playground instead and stayed until after 5.

On the way home, Cal declared his feet stinky (I wasn't disagreeing) so he hung them out the window to air out.

The boys ate dinner and then we headed back outside to ride bikes while waiting for Eddie to get home.  Both boys had to take bathroom breaks while we were playing-- and kept their helmets on for safety...

I left the house around 6:20 to head to teach my class at 7! The class was outside by the country club pool and it was SO nice out there! The sun was setting, the breeze was blowing and the pool waterslide was going so it felt like a retreat (almost)!

After finishing class and picking up equipment, I headed home.  I pulled in around 8:30 and chatted with Eddie then took a shower, switched some laundry and watch the Big Bang Theory until I passed out at 10:15! I was planning on taking a 6am class so I needed to get to sleep...it wasn't hard!

It was a busy and random day... just a look at a typical day around here! Next year both boys will be going to school 5 days a week-- I know I am going to miss random Tuesdays like this one; I better soak them up now!
