Weekend Update: Fancy and Sporty Fun

We had a whirlwind weekend! I knew it was going to be action packed so I was thankful for a chill and relaxed Friday night.  We got takeout and crashed early.  It was quite nice!

Saturday morning, I did a popup workout and then hurried home to get everyone ready for basketball.  Andy had a game from 11:45-12:45 and then we hauled tail to get to Cal's game (at a different spot, of course!) which was from 1-2.

Both boys are loving basketball this season.  Andy's team scrimmaged again, and Cal's team had a real game.  I love watching these teams play-- they have so much fun out there and are so cute trying to remember to dribble and pass.

Andy and Lee guarding each other...

And then at Cal's game, I was watching the game too much to even get a picture! I got a video, thanks to Eddie's sister sending it, but other than that, I only got the below picture of Andy and Jane!

We grabbed lunch after the second game and then went home to get ready for a big night out!

We attended Chapel Hill Cotillion Club Saturday night and it was SUCH a fun night! I always love an excuse to get all dressed up with Eddie in a tux.  It was icing on the cake that there was dancing and all of my besties there.

I tried Rent The Runway for the first time for this event and I couldn't have been happier! I didn't want to go out and buy a dress that I wouldn't wear again....so I tried this option and it was GREAT! I narrowed my search down by price and had a TON of options to pick from- in loads of different sizes.  Once I picked my dress, I opted to have a free second size sent to me as well (in case first size didn't fit) and I am so glad I did! The dresses came in a sweet carrying case and were incredibly nice.  I got a $500 gown for $70.  Okay, enough about that-- but it was awesome! haha

My parents were there so I got a picture with my momma...

Two of my most favorite people ever:

And with the girls! Love my people!

I had a BLAST with my smoking hot date. We danced and laughed and danced some more.  Those are my most favorite nights.  Everyone was in a great mood and it was just a great time dancing the night away!

And, sweet Katie-- our dresses were very similar, or at least they look it in the picture.  Hers was a halter and mine was pretty much backless... and mine was navy and hers was black-- but we looked alike in this picture!

Sunday morning, we were all a little slow moving... ahem.... I was not up for getting off of the couch until 10:30.  We did some laundry and a few other things and then it was time to head to FLAG FOOTBALL!

Last weekend they had evaluations to form teams (Cal called it the combine), so this week was two hours long (what?!?!), one hour of practice and then one hour of game play.

And, let me tell you: it was AWESOME.  Oh my goodness.  My children were in their pure element.  It was cold out there.  Freezing cold.  Holy cold.  But they never complained.

Obviously, my boys are obsessed with football.  OBsessed.  They love everything about the sport.  So to get to watch them get a chance to play-- with other kids who are also wanting to play (as opposed to what it normally is, Cal wanting to play football and other kids being like eh, over it...), it was really really great.  I was that dumb mom smiling ear to ear watching them.  Or maybe my smile was just frozen on my face because I was that cold.  Either way.

So about half way through, my phone started acting up.  It said I had 39% and then it would just cut off and I couldn't get it back on.  So I would run to the car to plug it in and it would come on and be at 40% so I would run back to take a video (they were SO cute to watch!) and then it would die.  I was BEYOND frustrated!!!

I did get this cute one of the boys and their (Cal's!) buddy Jackson.

When the game started, Andy was a little timid-- and rightfully so: most of the kids out there were older than he is (one kid turned 7 last month).  Then Cal was handed the ball and ran it down the field for a touchdown and it was like a fire was lighted in Andy.  When the other team got the ball back, Nug ran right up to the kid and yanked his belt off.  It was awesome to watch--- he was grinning ear to ear.  And he wasn't afraid to do it again and again.  Then it was his turn to have the ball handed to him and he ran right down the field too- stopping just short of the end zone.

I mean it when I say these two were in absolute heaven... and seeing them so happy made standing out in the cold for 2 hours worth it.

We got home in time to thaw out and shower before heading to the club at 5 for the super bowl party! Although the outcome of the game was disappointing (but I do love the Manning brothers, so it is okay), we had a really great time at the club watching the game! They had a HUGE party set up and it was quite the turnout!

 Dabbin!

They had the whole upstairs set up for game watching and then the kids had the rooms downstairs for playing while the game was on.

We still like Jackson-- even though he was pulling for the other guys...

I thought tying this around my head would help us.  It didn't.

We left at halftime to get the bozos to bed.  Well, one bozo.  Andy was exhausted.  Cal was allowed to stay up until the end.  And he was pumped.  He knows now that if he is good and a good listener and if he doesn't tell Andy (haha), we will let him stay up later.  It is actually really nice to have this time with him.
He is allll about snuggling up to me and I loooooooove it.

So that was our weekend! Busy and fun! I went from wearing a long gown to standing on the football field close to 12 hours apart.  ha- living the dream! I will take it!

Hope y'all had a great weekend too!!! Anyone else ever rented the runway before?
