Well, the boys 'round here

Happy Tuesday!

(disclaimer: I take a lot of pictures each day-- close to 40 probably.  I am doing the picture a day thing on instagram and I send family pictures all the time too...plus I love documenting these wild ones.  That's why my posts are so photo heavy!)

Not much going on 'round here, but the boys have been busy! I am trying to make this blog a priority this year, so I am working on finding the time to post more.  I also want to comment on others blogs more.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading everyone's blogs,  but I find myself not commenting when I have to enter one of those "codes" at the bottom.  Disable that, and I am a commenting fool.  I am a fool regardless so....

Okay... the boys 'round here have been....

Going on the potty-- every day! Y'all know this was a battle with Andy.  PHEW! He is now going "both" on the potty every day.  We cut back on miralax and I think that might have been a little premature.  We can ease him out of that later.  He isn't scared to go now... but it doesn't hurt to be safe:

The boys 'round here.... are obsessed with riding bikes! Especially this little one! He asks DAILY to go on a bike ride!

The boys 'round here..... are helpful at target.  They actually were SO good when we went together this trip.  I have no idea why-- but the ironic thing is, I had the time to shop since they were being so good, but I had no room in the cart for anything- ha!

The boys 'round here ROCK some super hero undies...

(I can't do the boys round here any more...)

But this kid.... we can not get him to sleep through the night.  It is exhausting! He is fighting going down every.single.night.  I mean, it is the ultimate battle each night.  Eddie and I take turns going in and we have to go in about 20 hundred times.  Thank goodness he's cute. Between "poopoo coming" and "bad guys here!" and "i tink i need some medicine" and "i want water!" and "mo peepee coming!" it is endless.

He wakes up at least one time every night-- and often will not go back to sleep.  He usually goes to the bathroom when he wakes up-- so he is staying dry all night long-- and often ends up on our floor in a sleeping bag.  We were allowing him in our bed, but I put a stop to that a while ago when he would only sleep on my pillow when his feet in my belly.  Again- it is exhausting.  We can't let him cry it out because he's in the big boy bed, so he will just come out and wake up Cal the neighbors the entire street all of Chapel Hill the whole East Coast.

CalBoy is extremely obsessed with football still.  He put on a spiderman glove and said he was a wide receiver.  He is so much into football that he picked the winner of all of the bowl games.  Yes.  All of them.  Actually-- we didn't ask him about the first few games so I didn't document those, but every single other game, he picked correctly.  Even games that the entire world picked to go the other way, Cal picked correctly.  Go figure.  I am going to Vegas and taking him with me!

Speaking of football-- everyone around here plays football.  Even the super heroes wear helmets.  This is one of my favorite pictures of Nug.   Little tongue sticking out, focused on his players.... sitting on his knees.... Lord, I love these boys.

Sticking with the football theme- I got the boys shoulder pads for Christmas.  Cal had his on this past weekend....and then couldn't get them off.  Seriously.  Eddie tightened the black string and then went to the bathroom-- I could not get the black string undone! These are used pads so the clip is way worn out and doesn't work any more.  Cal was borderline panic mode.... I was dying laughing.

My mom got the boys THE cutest towels for Christmas-- they are super hero towels and the little hands say "BOOM" and "POW!" And their names are on the back.  The boys love them!

I absolutely love having two boys.  I love love love it-- everyone asks me if I wish I had a girl-- and I have to tell you-- I adore having two little guys! They are just the best of friends and they play together all the time-- not always nicely-- but still.  CB got them these hats last year (I think for Christmas, right CB??) and we still wear them!

They really are best friends- and I hope they always stay this way!

They wanted to go for a bike ride, but wanted to keep their hats on too-- see the balls sticking out the back? ha!

A little wrestling before bed.  I swear, I had no idea how many times a day I would say: "DO NOT TACKLE YOUR BROTHER!!!" It's a lot.  Like, a whole lot....

Cal went back to school on Monday.  Andy cried.  He said he wanted to see his teacher and Cal.  Tomorrow they will both go back- not quite sure what I will do with myself....!

While Cal was at school, we had a little play date at our house-- six little kids came over to visit and Andy was in heaven! This is his buddy Lee:

You will notice in the above picture in the garage, Cal does not have any holes in his jeans.  This is what his jeans looked like when I picked him up from school.  Guess we won't be passing these down to Andy!

I sure do love my boys 'round here!!!

I have been trying to comment forever but that little code on the bottom doesn't work on my phone! Anyway, love reading about your boys and you, seeing the pics and feeling like I know about your life. You find such joy in mothering them and it's refreshing. Great job!
xoxo
