Girls' Weekend to the BEACH

I could have titled this post "Moms Gone Wild" but I figured ain't no one got time to see some moms gone wild....

Just kidding.

Way back in the day, when I was a member in the Junior League, I became close with a group of girls (well, one of the girls I have known forever and ever--hi, ange!).  The JL was fun and all, but soon, we realized we had a whole lot more fun just being together...not at meetings!

Slowly, people from our group started to move away.  One to Greensboro. One to Maryland. One to Mississippi.  Only a few of us were left.

We talked about doing a get together this summer and I honest to goodness did NOT believe it would happen.  With everyone's busy schedules and lives and kids and jobs and on and on and on, I did not see it happening.

But it did!

And it was AWESOME!

We left Friday morning and drove to my family's beach house for the weekend.  We laughed SO hard. We talked NON-STOP. And we just had the time of our lives together!

The weather didn't really cooperate-- which is funny because none of us knew the weather wasn't supposed to be good.  We were all so excited to get together that no one checked the weather report-- no one CARED!

When we arrived, my mom put together little goodie bags for each girl with some snacks, a little candle, some champagne and a tervis tumbler for each of us! We each had a different color lid so we could tell them apart.  It was awesome! (I am going to say that a lot this post)

I got each girl a coozie for our beverages... they have our names on the bottom of them...

After a quick shower after unloading the car, the sun broke through and we headed over to the beach with a full cooler.  This was the best weather we had the whole weekend...and it was awesome. ;)

Can you guess the shadows? (and also, thank GOD there was not a soul on the beach while we were down there.  We were being crazy....moms gone wild, i tell ya!)

We take a little golf cart back and forth to the beach... this was us on our way back.  Wow.

After the afternoon on the beach, we ordered in a pizza and waited for Andrea to come in-- she was working Friday and had to pump one more time for her sweet little guy.

We woke up Saturday morning to rain and took a look at the forecast... not real pretty!

So, we had some champagne and went shopping! Apparently I was feeling the love for NC!

When we came home, we thought that maybe the clouds were parting, so we quick made some sweet tea vodka in a big jug and headed over to the beach...

My new shades...I think they are going to be my drinking glasses.

We sat on the beach for about 4 minutes before it started drizzling again so we loaded the golf cart BACK up again and spent the afternoon on the porch drinking, talking, LAUGHING and laughing some more.  It really was the perfect day.

And....we tried on all of our rings...???

We went out to dinner in Beaufort Saturday night and had a great meal and hung out listening to live music for a while.  It was SO fun just being out with these great friends!

I have been feeling blessed all week to have so many wonderful people whom I can call friends.  I haven't seen all of these girls together in over a year and it was like we were never apart.  We never stopped talking and we didn't want the weekend to end!

Sometimes, when girls do trips together, someone is high maintenance or difficult or just causes issues with the group.  Not in this group.  Everyone got along SO well and we already are counting down for our next trip together!

I love you girls to pieces.  BOOM.
