InstaFunnies
Y'all have been so good about sending me these-- I save them all on my computer and then when I go to do one of these posts, I start laughing all over again. I have the sense of humor of a middle schooler. I can't help it. These make me laugh so hard...

Life lately: soooo many pictures....
Lots of pictures for our life lately... we've been enjoying spring and spending time outside as much as possible. We are getting super excited for our trip and the list making process is in full swing.
Last week, I realized the boys needed flip flops since they have outgrown everything so we hit the mall. Eddie was out of town, so we went to the best place ever for shoes: RACK ROOM! They have the BEST shoes and loads of sizes in each one. We used to shop at other stores/department stores, but I got beyond sick of them (finally) picking a shoe, only to find out the store didn't have their size. So we love Rack Room. Oh! And it is buy one, get one 50% off. Can't beat them.
So we hit the mall. And as we walked through Nordstrom, these bozos found some hats to try on. We didn't get these. Don't worry.
And then they looked at sunglasses. I remember it being super bright by the pool in Mexico, so I want them to get sunglasses.... just not these... although, pretty sweet...
As we walked out of Nordstrom, the Easter bunny was out. There was a time in Andy's life where he would run and hide from this character. But, not so much this time. He pretty much shoved this kid out of the way to give him a hug.
And then he told Cal he had to do it too.
We headed to Rack Room and did some damage. The boys decided they really needed new sneakers too- not just flip flops. Both boys are still in a size one-- although, I am fairly certain Andy could have gone up at least another half size, but we just stayed with a one this time around. Next time, he will be bigger, I think.
Andy picked out some "Carolina Panther" shoes (black and blue) and Cal got his favorite colors (green and grey).
Bruce has been trying to sneak his way into the boy's rooms at night.... can you spot him?
He was mad when I kicked him out, so he shredded some tissue paper.... he was sorry.
But we still love him...
We went to the beach last weekend and noticed Bruce starting to get an ear infection. He went to bed Saturday night at the beach and I guess managed to scratch his ears all night long. He woke up with a MESS behind his ears. Pussing and bleeding and just plain nasty. The spots became hotspots and he was NOT comfortable.
I took him to the vet Monday morning-- bless his heart.
And they tried to look at his ears and couldn't get near him- at all. He was freaking out. It was determined they were going to have to sedate him to be able to treat him. He had all kinds of swelling and issues to his ears. So he got a sweet shave behind both ears....and came home with a beautiful cone.
and he HATES it! And we all have bruises on our legs from him running into us going full steam. He can't reach the ground to smell, so he is having a hard time going to the bathroom. Bless his heart (can I say that a few more times?!) It is a total pain for him to get comfortable, but he's hanging in there.
I let him go for a car ride and he seemed happy enough. But he was mad he couldn't fit his whole head out the window.
Andy and I are still walking the dogs every day-- especially now...to help get Bruce to potty. On Wednesday, he didn't want to ride in the stroller, so he hopped on his scooter. And holy smokes, he has gotten good on that thing! There is a boy at Cal's school who rides one home every day and I see Andy watching him- guess he learned a thing or two!
He was getting confident so he raised a hand up for a split second. Then it was longer, then longer... and then he had it up in the air for 30+ seconds. Just cruising!
This kid... I swear...
I have been playing tennis once a week-- well, okay... I have been attempting to play tennis at a lesson once a week. And I am reallllllly enjoying it!!! It feels SO good to be outside in the sunshine with some good friends and trying something new. As much as I love being out there, I do not love the feet tan I appear to be getting...
I need Mexico to even that out!
There is a look at life lately!
OH, one more thing... If you have nothing better to do on April 15, there is a fashion show benefiting Habitat for Humanity- a GREAT cause! You can use this link to buy tickets. I am in it and so is my momma!, but more importantly, the boys are in it too! I would LOVE to see familiar faces in the crowd. No pressure, but I hope you will come join the fun!

Lucky St. Patrick's Day!
Last Thursday was St. Patrick's Day and this year it was an extra special day.... CalBoy lost his first tooth!
It all started Wednesday, after soccer. Eddie was out of town and he has had this fear of Cal losing his tooth without him here-- I don't know why... but I do know that I also had a fear he would lose his tooth while Eddie was gone because I DO NOT DO TEETH. At all.
We were on the phone with Eddie, who was heading to the airport, when Cal bit into a lollipop... and then screamed a little bit and said "my tooth!!!" He showed me his tooth and there was blood. I don't mind blood. But I DO NOT DO TEETH. We were all screaming and Eddie was on the phone panicked the tooth would come out without him.
Hard to tell in above pic, but this was when it was in place-- it was dangling when it wasn't in place.... yuuuuuuuck.
I tried to get it out (while covering my eyes with one hand). Andy was distraught. Yes, Andy. It wasn't his mouth. I know. The more we pulled, the more it bled. The more it bled, the more Andy screamed. And he wasn't just screaming. He was on the floor rolling around HYSTERICAL.
So let me paint a little picture for you:
The tooth is dangling. I don't do teeth (have I mentioned that?!). I facetimed my dad so he could see the tooth and tell me if I should pull it or just let it be. Andy is on the floor screaming so loudly that I can not hear my dad on the phone...or Cal telling me if it hurt. Then Hank comes over and was trying to kiss on Andy because he gets so upset when Andy cries. Then Bruce comes over, as I am gripping Cal's tooth in my hand (the other hand is covering my eyes) and Bruce mounts Hank and starts trying to hump him. It was like a total and complete SH*T SHOW.
We throw in the towel and decide to just hit the showers. While Andy is in the shower-- still screaming-- Cal is trying to wiggle it out... with no luck.
Andy goes to bed and Cal and I work on this tooth for a while-- with no luck. He was nervous to go to bed because he didn't want to swallow it. I let him get in bed with me and he fell asleep immediately. Eddie moved him to his bed when he got home- tooth still in tact.
Thursday morning was St. Patrick's Day! Andy decked out in his Fitch Lumber Green and was ready for school.
Eddie got to work on the tooth, and he didn't have any luck either. It wasn't budging... but it was starting to turn grey with no blood going to it... it was literally dangling by a little root. I texted a friend of mine who is a teacher at Cal's school who LOVES pulling teeth (what is wrong with her?!?!) and told her it was about to fall out. She said she would pull it at school, no problem.
She texted me during her planning period saying she saw Cal and the tooth and he wasn't letting her anywhere near his mouth.
After school, I dropped Andy at tennis and went to get Cal. Ms. T came out to see him and tried to pull it again. Cal refused. She is a first grade teacher and several of her students came out of her room and all said how many teeth she has pulled of theirs and how it didn't hurt at all.... so then she said "just let me see it" so Cal showed her.....and she told him it was ready to come out.... then she said "I won't pull it, just let me touch it..." so he let her: she reach in, and within a second, she was holding his tooth in her hand. Cal and I just froze. Neither one of us could believe she pulled it out! Actually, she just pushed it out.
He was SO excited it came out-- and I think he looks pretty cute without it!
The tooth fairy came that night-- after realizing there wasn't in cash in any wallets in the house..... the tooth fairy had to go on a little hunt to make it happen! The tooth fairy also had a few cocktails before this so documenting the snatching had to happen....
Cal is a wild sleeper-- he thrashes all over the place. So the fairy knew she couldn't leave money under his pillow or it wouldn't be there in the morning. It was left on the dresser... and Friday morning, Cal came running into our room crying that his tooth was taken, but the tooth fairy forgot to leave anything in return! haha ooops.... I told him to go in a look around a little bit and then he found it.
And, because I have to document this...
The leprechaun came to Andy's school and was full of mischief. I was working on this day so I got to witness it all. Apparently, he turned over a few tables in Andy's class, sprinkled some glitter on the floor and even left his shoe in there. And it BLEW Andy's MIND. It was more than he could take. He had his hands on his head and couldn't eat lunch and could not stop talking about this trouble maker. I am not exaggerating. He called my mother in law and after he passed the phone back to me, she said she had never heard him so shocked- haha. It was like Christmas... but with Santa, he knew what to expect. He didn't know what to expect with this so he was absolutely positively STUNNED. And it was hilarious. Had to put this here to help me remember his excitement!!!

Weekend Update
Welcome, Spring! Sunday was the first day of summer, but I FROZE my hind end off at flag football.... holy smokes it was cold out there! Didn't seem to slow down any kids though...
We decided to head to the beach for the weekend. We hadn't been in a while and we were all craving it. Clearly we love it down there-- it's good for the soul.
Eddie and Andy and Hank left Friday morning. I did popup and then had a hair appointment...I ran home and packed the car and got Bruce and went to check Cal out early from school. We got a little snack and hit the road by 2:15. I am listening to a new book and so far, I think I like it... I am not sure yet. I'll report back on that later.
We arrived right around 5:00 and this was our view:
Tell me that wouldn't make you happy too...ahhhhh..... I swear to you, I drive over the bridge and take a huge breath- every single time I go over it- and I feel myself relax.
You know who else loves it there? Hankers:
He was running around like a puppy the whole weekend. It makes my heart happy to see him so youthful and happy with some pep in his step.
The boys were reunited and they were SO excited to see each other- ha! Maybe we need to keep them apart more often! They played hard in the driveway until it was dinner time.
Bruce wasted NO time getting filthy. He rolled in dirt and ran around like crazy for most of the weekend. But he was happy!
Over in the corner of my mom's kitchen at the beach, she said she always envisioned her grandkids sitting there and reading books while she cooked. I looked over Saturday morning to see Nug curled up with a book-- I know this made my mom happy...it sure did make me smile!
Eddie took these three over to the beach via the golf cart for a little running around time. One of these clowns went in the ocean....
Three houses down from my parents house is this house:
Which Eddie's parents are buying!!!!!! EEEEEEK! We are all SO excited to have them so close to us and another house we can visit down there.
We hadn't seen the house yet, so we went over to walk through it and we love it! So fun! The cheese ball in me can't wait to make memories with the boys there and at my parents house. I have visions of the kids running back and forth between the houses and "sleepovers" and just so.much.fun!
The day was supposed to be a total wash out and when the rain started, we headed out to run a few errands. We got out and hit a store or two and all of a sudden, the sun was breaking through and the rain was gone!
Eddie took Andy for a boat ride and when they came back, I seriously thought Bruce would get his head stuck in the porch watching them:
We spent the next HOURS out in the yard playing. Their is a basketball court just down the street from our house and the boys wanted to shoot hoops so they drove their trucks over there with basketballs in the trunk:
They backed into some parking spots and shot hoops-- I could hear them from our house, laughing and talking a mile a minute to each other. And then driving next to each other made me realize how close they will be driving REAL cars.... dear gracious.
The sun was shining and we were all outside soaking it up-- Bruce spent the majority of the day in the water and in the mud. And repeat. He was so happy...and so dirty!
Mom and I decided we better break out the bubbles...the day called for it! Love her and love spending time with her... and love bubbles too...
We got out the paddles for paddle ball and mom and I were playing with a tennis ball while the dogs jumped up in the middle of us and the boys were our ball boys, running after every ball that went awry. This went on for a while and I swear, the dogs were just going to collapse, they were running so hard!
Finally, the boys decided they wanted to play with us, so there went our game- haha. Cal wanted to play doubles with me... I will go ahead and say he's my favorite doubles partner.
We decided to take our boys and our bubbles for a golf cart ride! It was a beautiful night-- and the setting sun made it a little chillier....
We did a loop around the hood-- Henry wanted in the selfie action too.
We came home and ate and got the kids in bed- they were SPENT. And, frankly, I had a big day with them and I was ready for them to go to bed too.... just sayin.....
They shared a bed on this trip and when I went to check on them, this is how they were:
Andy has one leg off his bed and Cal is alllll over the place. Andy ended up falling out of bed around 11. Of course he did.
Sunday morning we woke up and it was chilly out! A cold front blew in and it was COLD! I made some monkey bread....
and we packed up cars and headed home. I took both boys with me and they were really good in the car for the most part. I tuned them out to listen to my book (I am obsessed with audio books for car trips...!) and we made it home in record time.
As we were pulling into town, I remembered flag football! We went in the house and carried everything in and then the boys changed clothes and we headed right back out to football! It was the last game of the season so there was an awards "ceremony" afterwards. It was C-O-L-D out there and my feet didn't thaw out until late Sunday night... It was 43, but it was a damp 43... not to mention it was 85 last week...!
Here are the BULLDOGS!
They each got a trophy and if they hadn't received a sportsmanship trophy throughout the season (C and A had not), they got their medal too-- and they were pumped!
We have loved loved loved flag football and we can't wait to play again! It was such a positive experience for these two crazies. I am glad they loved it!
One more week until vacation-- and I can't wait! I am starting to make packing lists... it seems never ending! Oh, and I still have to lose 10 pounds for the trip... riiiiiight.......
