Holy smokes, what a crazy busy weekend! Eddie's parents came to town for the weekend to catch a few games, and thankfully, the weather cooperated so they were able to! Eddie is in Costa Rica surfing for the week-- left Friday morning, so it was me and the boys and Mimi and Poppy! They picked a SUPER busy weekend to come; we had a lot going on, so it worked out well to have some extra help.
Eddie's dad got in Thursday after school, so we went to the airport to get him and then went out to eat. Friday, after picking kids up from school, we came home and played for a bit and ate some meatloaf for dinner- the boys looooove meat loaf, but Eddie won't eat it (because of the name-- not the actual food...!), so I make it almost every time he is out of town.
Andy got loads of back scratches-- he was in the zone here. In front of the fire, happy as can be!
After I made dinner, Andy helped me make a cake- I so wish I hadn't. It was so good. I need to throw it away. Holy cow. I can't stop eating, That isn't helping me get swim suit ready. But Andy did the dishes, so there's that!
Friday night after dinner, Poppy wanted to take the boys to Menchies for some Frozen Yogurt-- the three of them sat at a hightop table and chatted away.
We got home and got ready for bed-- these two love each other...and are always all over each other.
Saturday morning, it was basketball time! Andy's game was first and it was team picture day-- here are the RED DRAGONS!
Andy played well and had fun and got a basket-- and he was SO excited Mimi and Poppy AND Tricia and Tommy were there to witness it!
After killing some time in between games, we headed to Cal's game! I didn't take any pictures there-- it was intense! We played a really good team- haha! Cal scored 4 points and had a great game. He had quite the cheering section, much like Andy!
We got home and Poppy took the boys to hit golf balls. I ran to the airport to drop off a car for my parents, who were coming home Saturday night and then went to the house to clean up. When the boys got back, they spent a lot of time in the driveway playing PIG. Any time someone got P-I-G, they had to start oinking like pigs-- this made the boys laugh SO hard! Especially when they got Poppy out!
Saturday night, I had a fun party to go to, so my sweet in laws took over kid duty and left me in the house to get ready all by myself! It was HEAVEN! I poured a cocktail and turned up some music and enjoyed every minute of it.
Sally and I had quite a good time together, as usual...
It was an oyster roast and we ate our fair share of oysters- they were soooo yummy.
Helping ourselves to champagne....
Sunday morning, it was house work and then some errand running. I ran to World Market and got some FUN stuff! They had some amazing jewelry-- I got a few fun pieces! I'll post pics later.
This is where the day got crazy... I had a brunch at 1 for two of my sweet, sweet friends. The boys had football from 1:30-3:30. I left the brunch early to try to catch the tail end of football, but the sky opened up and it started pouring! So I got there in time to watch all the little ballers running off the field. Here are my two drowned rats:
My parents went to the game too, so they got to see these two in their element! They truly love playing flag football! SO glad I signed them up. I am going to have to have them play year round, I think.
So football was 1:30-3:30, we came home and changed clothes and then the boys had a birthday party from 4-5:30 and then Cal had another basketball game from 6-7. PHEW! These boys had a BIG day!!!
My mom came to the game with us and we had so much fun cheering on Cal and all these sweet boys. They are really starting to "click" together and they are SO much fun to watch! Cal managed to get 12 points-- holla!-- and played a great game. But more importantly, he is having FUN out there!
I have a few more days of solo parenting... I think I can I think I can! I am ready to kick my feet up and take a nap...but, ready or not: Monday is here!!!
