We had a fun weekend last weekend! It wasn't overly busy-- but it was fun!
We were up bright and early Saturday morning for the Chapel Hill Christmas parade! We were riding on the Fitch Lumber float and these kiddos were pumped!
The boys donned some Fitch Lumber shirts and super cute hats.
They loaded up the adorable float and headed over to the starting point.
And these moms walked over to the starting point-- it was a great start to the parade, walking with friends!
Once to the starting line, we had some time to kill before the parade started. These two goofballs were all smiles.
We walked the parade route while the kids all rode or handed out candy. It turned out to to be a beautiful day. The sun was shining brightly and it was a great morning!!!
We came home and everyone wanted to play in the front yard. Bruce just wants to be hugged. All the time. He is not happy just being petted-- he wants a full blown hug. It's pretty sweet.
Saturday night, we had a SUPER fun party with a bunch of great friends-- we went to dinner before and then to the party. How do I not have one picture from the night??? Seriously. Not one!!! WHAT??? SO unlike me.
Sunday morning, we chilled and I ran to the store and then the boys had soccer. Yes, I said boys. Cal's league plays indoor on Sundays. We've been tossing around the idea of Andy playing in this league come spring. We wanted him to go out and try it out to see if he would actually play.
He was nervous and verrrrry timid. Not sure he's quite ready for that play! And that is a-okay by us!!! One more season in his current league, is what I think. But we will see....
Sunday night, it was my most favorite night of the year at church. The LOVE FEAST! I loooooove this night. We always go to dinner before hand at mom's house and then head to church. Before we left, the boys asked for pictures-- seriously, they did! They have started liking to have their pictures taken!!! Andy doesn't always want pictures, but more often than not, they tell me when it's time to take- ha!
Cal completely orchestrated these pictures. He was saying "you take a picture of Andy, now take one of me. Now take one of both of us...."
Then he goes "we need one of the three of us!" Eddie was still upstairs so I said "daddy isn't here to take it" Cal said, "we can take one of those selfie things..." and here is one of our selfie things:
My mom's table was beautiful for dinner. It truly feels like walking into A Southern Living magazine when you walk into her house. It was cozy and inviting and just perfect!!!
Tricia and Tommy came with their new pup, Tucker.... how cute is he???!!! love love love!
We headed to the service and Cal was beyond thrilled I said he could try the (DECAF) coffee. He thought he was hot spit- hahaha
When the candles were passed out, I tried to get one of everyone...
And, the very end of the service, we all raise our candles to sing the last verse of Joy to the World.
It's beautiful!
It was the perfect way to end the weekend and start the week. Makes my heart full to sit there with my whole family so happy and healthy.
Cheers to that!

Life Lately
We have had a lot going on around here lately! I didn't do a weekend update post on Monday with pictures from our weekend fun.
Here are some pictures from LAST week!
There is something so peaceful about all the lights off, with just the Christmas tree lit...and a sleeping dog in front of it. This makes me so happy (that and the tree standing upright....).
Thursday of last week was RED day in the Mouse Class. We turn it into Rudolf day... Oh no! I just realized Kristen's eyes are shut in this picture... I thought I picked the one with open eyes...and now I can't find the original pics....! ahhhhhhhh! Oh well. Pretend they are open. I love teaching with her. We have way too much fun in there together.
I also like being able to walk down the hall and see the Christmas tree with wishlist items from kids. Andy and his darn pogo stick. He also wrote he wanted a blue bike... so there you go.
Thursday night, we had our popup holiday dinner get together... and it was AMAZING. We had it at the club and the food was to die for good. They printed out menus for us and set us up in a beautiful room.
Katie, in the middle, and all of her girls on either side. We had such a fun night and when we left, we all had sore cheeks from laughing so hard.
I came home on Friday to find Hank on the bed. He's not supposed to be on the bed. And he's reallllly not supposed to be up by the pillows.... but look and how sweet he looks! Who could yell at that face??
My mom had all the grandkids get together a few years ago and she printed off signs for each one to hold that had their ages on them-- they were 2, 3, 4 and 5 I believe (before Margaret was born). She has been dying to do it again and after a few re-schedules, we made it happen Friday afternoon. We met at Portrait Innovations and she had shirts made for them. The pictures turned out really cute--
These were just from my phone, but I thought they were adorable. And, when did Cal start looking so old??
I said before I love love love love getting Christmas cards-- totally makes my day going to the mail box each day. My sweet cousin's husband sent out cards this year-- and it made me want to bawl. I know Molly is smiling down at him and her precious babies. I can't imagine how hard this time of year is for them... first Christmas without Mommy makes me so so sad. And also-- if I pass, you can pretty much rest assured that you will not be getting a Christmas card from Eddie. Bless his heart, I don't think he would go to the trouble!
I spent last Friday night wrapping some presents... not everything, but some of them. Bruce made it SO SO hard. He wanted to play/eat/scratch and everything.
I think he got so sick of hearing me say No, Bru, that he sent himself to his crate! hahaha I couldn't find him and then saw he walked in and went to sleep! He woke up when I took this picture-- door open and all.
That is just a little bit of life lately....
