Weekend Update

I am late getting my weekend update up, but it's here now, so that's what counts! We had a really fun weekend with lots of family fun and great weather! I love spring time in NC! The skies are bluer, the temperature is just about perfect and everyone seems happier!

Friday, while the boys were in school, I made a quick run to target and got them these jerseys. I just felt like they really needed them....okay, so they really wanted them.  Whatever.  I had them placed on the back of the couch so when they walked in from school, it was the first thing they saw.  They were super excited!

They pulled hard for the TARHEELS all weekend!

Friday night, I went with some friends to see Kinky Boots at the DPAC.  We had such a fun night out and liked the play too!

While I was at the play, Eddie took the boys to a fun spot to watch them game with a whole bunch of guys (and their sons!).  The game started at 7 and they ended up staying until the end-- which wasn't early!!! Those were some tired boys!

Saturday morning, I woke up with a cold, which I am still fighting like crazy, but I had to shake it off and get my act together because it was time to teach KIDSPOP!

I had these little poppers doing wall sits-- don't they look like they are enjoying it??? haha And then after, I took pictures with two sweet, sweet girls:

P, below, and I wore matching shirts for our picture... we seriously planned it.  And that's why I eat this stuff up.  For cuties like this:

After popup, we ran a few super quick errands and then it was time for the last game for the Red Swords!

They ended with a loss; their only loss of the season! But the kids played great and they had a blast doing it-- what more could we ask??!! Cal got a few baskets, and he was grinning ear to ear.  He was supporting his team mates with high fives and pats on the back, and I was proud of my buddy.  He learned a lot this season-- but mainly he learned how much he loves basketball! He's already sad there won't be any more games.

How sweet are these two?? I work with Laynie's mom and I adore them both! Cal and Laynie are good friends too and Kristen and I love to watch them together.

We came home for lunch and Cal got on his "cell" and was calling Owen and discussing basketball plays.  He kept pushing the ringer button and saying, "oh, that must be Owen again......" and then talking away.  Good gracious, a look into my future??

Friday night's late night caught up with Andy.  He did kidspop Saturday morning and then went to Cal's basketball game.  When we got home from the game, Andy was walking around crying. I asked him what was wrong and he said, "I don't knoooooow!" So I put on some paw patrol and gave him a big ol blanket and he was OUT.  Big fat 3 hour nap.  Good stuff.

Eddie's sister CB flew in Saturday night to come visit-- everyone always asks what brings her to town, and seriously, she is just that sweet that she comes to visit a lot! We love having her and the boys adore her... it works out well!
We spent Saturday night with a bottle of wine and the UNC game.

Sunday morning we took the dogs on a walk and hung out with Tricia and Tommy too.

I am on a few committees at the country club and they had a "boot camp" thing this year where they asked all committee members to come and learn about all the inner-workings of the club, etc.  It was 2.5 hours.  Inside.  And it was GORGEOUS outside.  I sat there from noon until 2:35.  I was going crazy.

CB sent me this picture from lunch with Tricia and the boys at Firehouse:

Then Cal decided she needed to change clothes and get ready to play outside... and do this with his hands....

I got home from my workshop and saw this in the cul de sac... BRIGHT blue skies and two boys riding their bikes, happy as clams!

We moved our party to the driveway where Tommy lifted the boys over and over and over again- he got his workout in!

and the girls cracked open some wine and drank it in red solo cups.  #whynot?

We spent most of the day outside, dogs included, so by last night, Bruce was practically begging to go to bed.  He was ready!
I am loving this spring like weather and pray it is here to stay! I am also praying this little cold I have leaves me quickly-- I am not feeling well at the moment..... oh well! Life doesn't stop for a cold, that is for sure!

Friday Favorites!

Better late than never, right?!

Here are some favorites right now:

1. Pout Pout Fish....again!

I wrote an earlier Friday Favorite post about The Pout Pout Fish books and how much the boys (and me!) are enjoying them.  Well.  I got this email last week....

And so, Debbie Diesen is FOR SURE one of my FAVORITES!

2. Cal's "friend"

I found this in Cal's backpack this week:

Apparently she asked her mom if she could "call Cal on the iPad sometime." That has Cal written all over it since he likes to chat with people on the iPad! I love sweet Chloe and I love watching them together! They are adorable and always grin when they are next to each other.

3. Barrington Purse

I am not really in the market for a new purse, but I have been smitten with this one for a while-- love the look of it and the leather looks super quality and soft.  Might have to use my gift cards from my class at Christmas to make a purchase...

Love also how you can design your own bag and make it whatever color/pattern you like... I am liking this too:

 4. Rustic Cuff

I have several Rustic Cuff bracelets and I love them!!!

My mom got me my first two, which have the boys names cut out of them (I can't find a picture of me wearing them, but I wear them all the time!) Here it is on the website:

Love that they are a little thinner as opposed to a thick cuff...

And then my mother in law discovered Rustic Cuff and now she loves to give them as gifts too-- and I am not complaining!

She gave me this bracelet:

And I love it!

She also gave me this name bracelet:

I really loooove this one and might have to add it to my wishlist! Would look cute stacked or solo:

I also think this one is neat and different looking:

This one is neat... did I mention I found out about this company because Guiliana Rancic was sporting some on instagram? Yeah.  She likes it too! This could be cute for newlyweds too!

They have all kinds of colors- not just gold.  I primarily wear gold, so I only showed those here.  I am a fan of Rustic Cuff! It is definitely a FAVORITE!

I thought about doing a whole Friday favorites on WalMart because I have found some goodies there lately... like, a lot of goodies. (Whhhhaaa???? WalMart??? Seriously, y'all.  I am not lying.) But, this week has been crazy....! I subbed in the preschool Monday and Wednesday and taught in my regular class Tuesday and Thursday... I came home to busy afternoons with the boys and lots of running everywhere! So, I will work on that post and maybe next week will be WalMart love.  I can't believe I am even writing that.  Who knew??

Enjoy your weekend! I am excited to teach Kidspop tomorrow morning and then CB is coming to town!!!

PS- my girl, Elizabeth, has a great blog and she posted her Friday Favorites too! Go read her blog!!!

Weekend Update: B is for Basketball

Whew, what a QUICK weekend! The weekend felt like it flew by-- isn't that always the case? Here is a quick look at our weekend...

Friday was pajama day at school for Andy.  He thought it was just the silliest thing ever to wear his jammies to school!

After school, we came home for a little rest time and then showers all around.  We headed to the club for kids club and Eddie and I ate with the Grosses.
Post showers:

Ready to head to the club!

Holding sweet Lily:

Saturday, I taught a popup class and Andy took kidspop while Cal got to go to College Gameday! Carolina played Duke this weekend and College Gameday came to UNC.  Tommy works for a company who does the ads for Traveloscity and the roaming gnome.  They are a sponsor for Gameday, so Tommy got Cal and Eddie on the court.  It seemed pretty amazing!

We all met back at the house after our morning activities and then before we knew it, it was time to head to Cal's basketball game!

The Red Swords did great and the parents all had fun watching them play.

After the game, we spent the rest of the afternoon doing yard work.  About 9, 837, 8840, 876, 000 pine cones fell in our yard during the last snow storm so I got to work picking them up.  I loathe picking up pine cones. After a hard workout in the morning, squatting to pick up pine cones hurt! I am counting that as a workout too- ha!

We were lucky enough to get tickets to the BIG game that night! We headed out to meet some friends at dinner and passed this sign along the way.  We honked.

After dinner, we headed to the Dean Dome and took a quick selfie :) ps- how tired do I look?? That's the first thing I am noticing in every picture I take.... does that make me old for admitting that?

The place was ROCKING:

We had a great time at the game, despite the outcome.  We headed home via cab and went to check on boys-- apparently, this one wanted to skin off for sleep.

Sunday morning I woke up to this... love these two sleeping next to each other....

We got to work on Sunday cleaning out the garage... and it was no easy task.  Seriously.  It was a LOT of work.

In the middle of the clean out...

It looks so good now, though, so I am glad we just got it done.  It was one of those tasks that was looming over our heads but once it was done it was worth it.

Sunday was also Hank's 10th birthday!!!! Such a sweet pup...

Everyone knows how much I adore this guy.... he is just the sweetest and, if I am being honest, he is my most favorite guy in this house! hahahaha
He had the best time soaking up the sunshine while we cleaned up the garage!

The bozos played with this wagon forever-- they would run up the driveway and then ride it down into the garage.  The laughter coming from the wagon was awesome-- made my heart happy!
We ended the weekend with a cookout at mom and dad's house! I thought I took pics of the kids playing football on the tee box, but apparently I didn't... it was a gorgeous day and we were all enjoying the sunshine on our bodies!

I have a CRAZY week filled with preschool subbing in addition to my regular classes...followed by Kinky Boots at the DPAC on Friday night! Oh, and throw in some ACC basketball tournament!
