Here's a look at life lately!
What we are reading:
I wrote last time about The Machmaker. It was BY FAR my favorite of her books! As I said, I did an audio book and I found myself wanting to put my headphones in constantly to listen! I was walking aimlessly through the grocery store listening away.
The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. I haven't read one of his books in forever and I knew this was going to be a movie soon, so I thought I would read it. I got well over half way through on the way home from Texas. So far, I like it! It is easy to read and a really quick read. I like it because it takes place in Morehead City and Beaufort and Atlantic Beach-- everywhere we go! He mentions landmarks that we visit regularly, which I think it really neat. I have a feeling I will finish this one this weekend and will be able to give a report back next week!
Cal has started reading the Dixie dog books and they are cute!
There are a ton in the series-- and we both find this dog adorable. I think I brought home 2 or 3 of these books from the library and he's worked his way through all of them.
And, in honor of the Super Bowl this weekend-- this book:
is a BIG TIME favorite in our house! For a while there, we were only reading this book. And this book only. It is a great book for your football lover-- in case you have one.
What we are eating:
I ate so so so much Tex Mex while I was in ATX, And it was all beyond amazing. I love that food!
Back to reality though...and hopefully back to the weight loss train.
Monday: we had BBQ chicken sandwiches (made in crockpot) with corn on the cob
Tuesday: Taco Tuesday! As much as I am over Mexican food, the boys requested Tacos...!
Wednesday: Six Sister Stuff club chicken (again!) with spinach salad
Thursday: no clue yet.... family voting!
Friday: take out!
Saturday: Fancy date night out!
Sunday: Super Bowl party!
What we are watching:
Ohhhh, Bachelor was goooood this week. Quick thoughts: Jujube ain't cut out for that world-- and I hope she seeks therapy. Olivia is a hot mess. An annoying hot mess. And I was embarrassed for her and her bad breath-- that is going to be mortifying to look back at the season and see that. I hope/can't wait for that topic to be discussed at women tell all. And finally- I hate a to be continued... c'mon!
We are SUPER excited for the SUPER bowl this weekend! We will be watching lots of pregame coverage.
Also, Andy has been super into Blaze lately-- he loves that show! I watched an episode with him while trying to calm his belly (sigh...a weekend of not enough miralax has equaled a few HARD days). He asked while watching it if we could go to Disney World and meet Blaze sometime. Bless his heart.
What's making me happy:
So much is making me happy!
Cal has his 100th day of school coming up, which meant a 100 day project for him. We went around and around with ideas and when I consulted pinterest, he saw a picture of a dum dum bouquet and he was decided. His didn't turn out quite like the picture we saw, but he counted out all 100 pops and (after I used a nail to start the holes) stuck each pop into the Styrofoam. He wrote "100 days" and his name on the pot. The OCD in me was kicking in and I had to sit on it- hard- to not try and make his handwriting neater... and it turned out perfect! He was SO proud of this project.
Andy loves his buzz cut. It cracks us up. Nothing against it, but I am not a huge fan of gel in hair. At all. Well, Andy got out of the shower and his hair was all spiky and we found some old gel and spiked it up even more. We were all dying laughing at him-- he was transformed into another kid:
Mister personality.....!
Weight Update:
The last weekly update I was beating myself up over this. Ugh. That's so annoying. And then the next morning, I got on the scale and I was down- 2 pounds! I hit a total of -5.5. And I was thrilled! Movement was all I wanted! I crept back up a little bit from that, but I know I can get back there. I think. I hope. I am trying. After a weekend of drinking and eating, my weight wasn't great on Monday, but it wasn't as bad as it could be. So I will focus on the positive. And I will drink more water. A lot of water!
That's life lately! Nothing much going on... and that's okay!
