This past Thursday (the day before Halloween), we had a FILLED day. That morning was a teacher workday so the boys and I headed to school. The teachers were SO productive and the kids had a blast playing with the other teachers' kids. It's amazing how needed that workday was.
Before we left for school, I had to get the boys dressed. Andy was rocking his new Halloween jammies and his race car hat. He loved that thing.
After the workday, we headed to the dentist for the boys' teeth cleaning! Cal does great at the dentist-- he is a big boy and goes on his own without me. The last time Andy went, he got real nervous and I basically had to hold him down. This time, he told me he wanted to go on his own--without me-- just like Cal does. I was thrilled with this news!
When they came out and called both boys back, Andy grabbed my hand at the last minute and said, "you can come too, Mommy..." and my heart lurched and I was so so thankful he wanted me there. Andy walked ahead of me, right beside the hygienist and she was talking to him and he was chatting away with her! I just pretended to not be there and he did SO well!
Since this was his first time in the chair all by himself, she walked him through every tool she would be using and he got to touch and hold everything. He was so big....and I was so proud.
Then I glanced down at Cal on the end-- sunglasses on, pretending the chair is a surf board- hahhaah! I don't have to worry about this one!
His teeth looked great and she commented how great he is doing brushing them. Phew.
We have been really concerned with Andy's finger sucking because it seems like it is all.the.time. The dentist looked at them and had zero concerns about it. ZERO. She said he must not be sucking that hard because his back teeth are all lining up great and his front teeth are barely moved out. We decided not to tell Andy that- ha! But we were relieved to know he isn't giving himself the world's worst buck teeth ever.
Andy got to hold the sucker thing-- it was hysterical.
Here is the dentist checking him out at the end. She was impressed with his brushing skills too!
After the dentist...and the report of two CAVITY FREE BOYS, we ran home to eat lunch and get showered and ready because we were going to meet Amber for our annual family pictures! I am anxious to see how they turned out, because these two were pretty darn adorable if you ask me!
We took them outside by this trail that had gorgeous sunlight and really pretty leaves.
Fingers crossed that she was able to get at least one good one we can use as a Christmas Card picture! We were all taking one together- the 4 of us- and I glanced down to see Andy holding up his middle finger in the picture. Nothing says "we wish you a Merry Christmas!" like a 3 year old giving you the bird.
Merry Merry!
