Here's a look at what's been going on with us lately, through my phone:
Cal's soccer game this past weekend... I had to get the weekly "game day picture" of the boys for the family for TCU's big game (wootwoot!). It was near impossible to get this picture because Cal had a snack that Andy wanted and Cal was afraid to look away from the food in case Andy stole it away.
Eddie played golf on this Saturday, so he wasn't at the game. It was a challenge to keep Andy off of the field. He soooo wanted to be out there playing with Cal!
Cal LOVES soccer. He absolutely loves it. That being said, I am not sure he really gets it. He knows you have to kick the ball. He knows you can't use your hands. He knows to run where the ball is and try to kick it in the goal...all those things he gets. However...I think we watch too much football because sweet boy takes a three point stance at the start of each "session" and he runs with his elbows out, trying to hit people. He says his favorite part of games is running into people. Ummm.... not quite the point of the game, but you know.... There was a dad there this past weekend and he said his son used to be the exact same way-- we are hoping he will figure things out...or we might get a lot of yellow cards in our future! I spend most games chasing Andy and wiping tears off of my face-- tears from laughing. It is HILARIOUS to watch him...
After the game, we got Chick-fil-a for lunch. Andy licked the sauce out of the container. Literally, tongue covering all four corners of the plastic. He then rubbed the rest in his hair. All.through.his.hair. Hank spent the rest of the day trying to lick his head.
Playing in the driveway. Andy's new favorite item-- the shopping cart! He runs behind this thing...and then usually crashes into a wall, or more often than not, Hank. Poor pup.
One day after nap time, Cal wanted to watch a little Toy Story. I sat down to turn it on, and he climbed up next to me and put his arm around my neck. It was the sweetest thing ever. We sat like this for a while...until he got sick of me leaning over to kiss him constantly. I can't help it. He is just SO sweet!
Andy is still obsessed with his blanket. He was trying to ride the helicopter car (also known as a plasma car) while loving on his blanket. He thinks this is just the greatest thing ever. And let me tell you-- washing this thing is hard! I am going to need to get a new one, I think... It is just hard to get it in the washer and dryer before nap time or before bed time.
This morning was school picture day for Andy. He loves school...and I am so thankful.
After school today, I had to get my monthly picture for the blog, so the boys sat down on a little step.
In my first attempt at a picture, Cal was making some kind of a weird face, but Nugget was doing this--
So I cropped out Cal. I am obsessed with this picture. Chubby little hands on his knees, cowboy boots on, freshly cut hair..... his little voice saying "cheeeeeeeee!!!"
A few weeks ago, I took Andy to Target while Cal was in school. He is quite the horrific shopper, so I thought I would try letting him ride in the cart, instead of the seat. Well, he refused to sit down...or hold on...
It was terrifying. I think he is trying to explain to me here that he doesn't need to hold on...
Andy was getting ready to go to school and it was feeling a little cool out. He got to wear his boots to school and I thought he looked pretty cute. I took him outside to take his picture, and he insisted on bringing his lovie with him.
On Wednesdays, when Andy is in school, Cal and I go to gymnastics. Every time we drop Andy off, Cal takes my hand and says "just me and you, mommy? Just Cal and Mommy?" It melts my heart. I love this kid so much and I love our time together, just us.
He is really enjoying gymnastics. He sometimes acts 20 shades of goofy in the class, but he does try. It is basically 45 minutes of him getting some energy out and looking over at me to make sure I am watching-- and I am. He loves the foam pit and the trampoline. He also loves doing "handstands" up against the walls.
After gymnastics last week, Cal was just being the sweetest thing ever. He realllllly wanted a cookie from the grocery store (and I realllllly didn't want to go to the grocery store), so I got him a Frosty and Wendy's. He thought it was the greatest thing ever. We were driving down the road and he was chatting away in the backseat saying stuff about just Cal and Mommy and a frosty!
Well, that night, he had soccer practice, and we took my aunt to see Legally Blonde, the musical. Eddie came home from work early (thanks, Ed!) to take the kids to soccer. He called me on my way to the theater and said "I think I just got worked by Cal." He said after practice, he asked Cal what he wanted for dinner. Cal said, "hmmm, what about Wendy's??" So Eddie took him to Wendy's. In the drive-thru line, Cal said, "hey daddy, how about a frosty??" so Eddie, thinking that Cal had been a really good kid at practice got him a frosty. They got home and Eddie went to throw away their trash and saw our trash from lunch, and Cal's frosty all in the trash can-- ha!
He is a smart little guy! Too funny!
This is me and my Aunt Libby on our way to see Legally Blonde!
And the last few are of Andy. This kid cracks me up. He is constantly into something and is usually laughing hysterically about it...
Cal's sticker book (and, um...where are your clothes???)
