Weekend Fun

Eddie's sister came to town this past weekend so spend some time with the boys, and we had to celebrate her birthday!!!

But, before the we could celebrate with CB, we had another birthday party, at Chick-fil-a, for Charlie, a buddy of Andy's.  I had to wake Andy to go, which I hate doing...and also? Why is it that during nap time, I can walk in his room, put away laundry, turn off the music box, talk to him, rub his back, etc...and he doesn't budge...but at night time, if I barely stick my head in his room, he snaps awake and is then awake for several (SEVERAL) hours???

This is what he was doing while I was trying to wake him...

Both kids had a ball at CFA and Andy especially loved the cupcake!

In the favor bags, the boys each got ring pops.  We let them eat them on the way home and Cal thought his green tongue was just hilarious.

Friday, Andy had school so Cal and I went to Party City to pick up some balloons to decorate the house for CB's arrival.  Cal modeled some cool sunglasses...

Birthdays are a big deal to me and I always want to make the birthday person feel special.... so we decorated for CB...

CB was supposed to get in Friday at 7:30ish, but apparently my traveling luck rubbed off on her and she was delayed.  Andy caught a glimpse of the cupcakes and was screaming "CUPCAKE!!!!" over and over and over again.  So I agreed to give him one... it's what CB would have wanted!

Carrie made it Friday night and Saturday morning we woke up and decided to take the boys on some errands.  We both needed shoes for the wedding so we headed to DSW and then we took the boys to Dicks to get Cal some new soccer cleats.  We both found our shoes pretty quickly at DSW and then we had the task of herding the boys to the checkout....always a challenge when Andy is involved:

After our errands, we brought the kids home and CB and I headed out for lunch and pedicures.  It was....AWESOME.  This momma doesn't get to "do lunch" very often and I was literally giddy the entire time.  Carrie was laughing at me for being so excited.... can't beat lunch with a bestie and a bloody mary!

After our amazing afternoon, we came home to find Cal in the driveway running races with Eddie.  These new soccer shoes make him run realllllly fast-- or so he says.  Poor Eddie was winded when we got home-- Cal had him running sprints all afternoon!

After feeding the boys dinner Saturday night, we let them have cupcakes...again.  This time we got to sing to CB though.  Andy, once again, enjoyed eating his...

 the eyebrows kill me...

Sunday, we were super excited because CB did NOT have to go home! She took Monday off so we had another full day to play! We headed over to the park for some fun...

Eddie came by to play for a while before heading to the golf course-- it was such a treat for the boys to have daddy and CB there to play with! Cal and I shared a swing while Ed and Nug shared one too...

Then, we ditched the kids and had a swinging contest.  Because that's what we do.  And, clear as day, MOMMA wins--- amiright???

Then we attempted to get pictures of CB with the boys-- a task that shouldn't be too hard...

After the park, we went to Firehouse Subs.  Cal loves that place and now Andy officially does too.  He put his hat on immediately and did not take the thing off.  Their kids meal sub is pretty big, so the boys split a kids meal-- cheap dates!

Monday was Cal's first soccer practice! Once again he is a Heffalump and he was SOOO excited to get back playing! It was chilly out there, but he had a ball running around with his teammates.

Keeping Andy off of the field is going to be a challenge... he stayed close the whole practice...

It is COLD and WINDY today....and so far, the practice has not been canceled.  I know it's bad, but I am keeping my fingers crossed it is canceled! This momma gets cold out there!!!

Hope y'all had a good weekend too!

The cupcake Thief

We made cupcakes to celebrate CB's birthday this weekend.  I put them on a cake stand in the dining room.  We ate all but two of them.

Yesterday, I was sweeping the kitchen and heard Andy saying "uh-oh!" I turned to see his back with his arm coming out of the neck hole of his sweatshirt.  As I bent to help him, I saw his face-- covered in chocolate.

Turns out he got up on the table to help himself! I cleaned his face off and fixed his sweatshirt then went into the dining room to see if there was any damage.  I did not notice damage, but I did notice the other cupcake was missing too.

Nugget took it into the playroom with stash it behind the train table.  I turned around and caught him trying to finish it.

Andy almost got away with his little heist.  But he left evidence behind....

Museum Trip

On Thursday morning, Cal's school had a teacher workday so we decided to meet our friends, Billy and Charlie, at the museum for some fun.  It was a chilly day (and momma was wayyyy under-dressed since coming straight from the gym), but we had a ton of fun!

The boys loved the dinosaurs and the butterflies and digging for fossils.  We were going to stay and play on the play ground some, but the boys were tired and it was just plain chilly out.  We also had a ton of things to do to get ready for the weekend.

As usual, I took a bunch of pictures while we were there...

riding the train... he kept his hand on my leg the entire time...

Andy was OBSESSED with the dinosaurs at the museum.  He ran around growling at them as loudly as he could.  His little voice was hoarse by the time we left.  He was screaming, "ROOOOAAAARRRRRR" and all of them!

The boys loved the butterfly house too.  It was very very not crowded so we could see a lot of things.

This picture of Charlie cracks me up...

And, my favorite picture from the trip.  Because of the chilly weather, the dinosaur trails were very empty-- the boys had a ball running around and playing hard!
