I haven't done one of these lately and need to get some pics off my phone! I wrote about the fashion show last week on Monday. When I had my fitting, we narrowed it down to three and then the final pick-- these were the other two contenders:
This was the most gorgeous dark navy blue, almost black color. It was stunning! But that slit was suuuper high on me and when I took a step, you could see my underwear (!!!) and when I stood still, you could see my tennis skirt tan line. While I loved it, I wasn't comfortable walking in it....
I loved this Grecian dress-- and the back was fab too. It was super low cut-- big time, but I didn't mind too much-- although when I bent down to adjust my shoe, there was no holding everything together, if you get my drift.
So we went with the third option!
Last week at soccer, it started downpouring in the middle- it wasn't storming, so it wasn't canceled... these boys were thrilled to play soaking wet.
Bruce just likes to cuddle. Always. I got on the floor to read with the boys the other night and Bruce assumed the position before either kiddo could get there.
Cal was apparently reading a really good book last week-- caught him sneaking in a few pages before school.
Andy was.....a beast last week. And I think calling him a beast puts it mildly. Bless his sweet heart, the child had not pooped in nine days. With daily miralax. He was melting down every afternoon and straight up raging. Hard hard hard on my momma heart. I ended most days last week feeling like a failure and a horrible mother. #keepingitreal But then I would walk in his room at night where he slept so sweetly and peacefully and I would lean down and kiss his face and know that the next day we had a chance to do it all over again. He doesn't WANT to act so awful-- wouldn't you act awful if you were full of poop? So anyway..... here ya go. Sweetness.... until 6:30am. I will take it.
Cal had a field trip last week and didn't get home until after 4. So Nug and I got a little time together. We went to Fresh Market to pick up dinner....and some jelly beans. It is right across from Eddie's office, so we stopped in there to give him a little love.
LOVE this last one.
And it's hard to believe when you see this....but a huge meltdown followed this picture. I was walking Bruce and Andy asked to go with me and help. Then he reached up and took my hand. He can be the sweetest little boy in America, I swear.
He had the urge to go every 4 minutes....but he really wanted to roller blade. So I carried him in to try to go....blades and all! (he never went.... but we went back and forth about 22 times.... might be why my back is aching this week)
On Friday we had his well visit--- and a chance for me to beg for alternative options for my non-pooping boy. They checked his eyes....
.....and his hearing....
And basically told me to up the miralax.... ugh. Not what I was wanting to hear and I am not done trying to get to the bottom of this. Yes, I want a solution, but more so, I would love to know what's causing this. (updated to add, he has gone every day this week-- praise sweet Jesus....)
This next picture was taken Saturday morning-- after the fashion show Friday night.... quite a change from the previous night! Me and Taylor out on the soccer field.....
Post baseball, we went to Dicks for some new cleats. Poor Cal went up TWO sizes... it was overdue. The boys enjoyed the treadmill.
Nug dressed himself and asked for a selfie with me....with zero make up on. Yikes. Also hadn't showered since pre-fashion show.... #lottagrease
Love this child so much!
They are off! It was raining and cold, but we had to take Bruce out to take care of business. Andy begged to walk him. Not sure who is walking who here....
That's a quick look at life lately!

Baseball
The baseball season is into full swing (hardy har har) and we are having multiple practices and games each week. It has been ad adjustment, but it's been fun!
One of the wives out there takes pictures with a good camera-- there are several of hers mixed in here, along with some of mine:
Watching them play side by side in the field brings on allll kinds of emotions for me. I have NO clue what the future holds for them, which sports they will play, if they will play sports at all! So it is really special for me to look out and see them out there, playing side by side, and backing each other up-- sweetness overload!
Cal has been playing catcher a lot and he seems to really like it! He's supposed to be way further up than that, but that will come. He comes from a long line of catchers so we will see if he wants to continue playing it.
Cal was the catcher and Andy was the pitcher...and my heart was swelling, I swear.
Both boys have gotten so much better at hitting. Cal really rips it and neither one has been struck out the past few games (we have a game tonight-- watch me jinx the whole thing!).
Andy has really improved in hitting too! He's working on not hitting it directly towards first every time-- and he's gotten better at that. He loves running the bases.
On one of Andy's hits last game, he brought Cal around and they were grinning at each other. Again- momma heart going wild.
He's coming for ya, nug!
These boys....
As much as I was disappointed in placement this year, I have really enjoyed having both boys on the same team. Not only has it made my life easier, but it's been really fun to watch!!

Fashion for a Cause
Last year, I was asked to participate in the Habitat For Humanity Fashion for a Cause Event. I had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the experience. I was pumped to purchase tickets to attend this year and watch some fun friends up on the runway. A week prior to the show, I got a text asking me if I would fill in for a last minute model cancellation. I already had tickets to the show, so she knew I was available...plus it's a great cause and who doesn't love to get dressed up fancy for a night??
And so I was back at it again. Last week was CRAZY. I had a fitting on Monday, along with a hair consultation, and the show was Friday...!
This was the decided upon outfit:
Once again, I lucked out in that I loved this outfit and I was totally and completely comfortable in it! I will say I liked all of the outfits this year-- there were some super cute ones!
But let me back up-- gotta document the whole experience here...
Friday (after a CAH-RAZY) day, I pulled into the hair place on two wheels and got my hair done:
I showed the girls doing my hair a few pictures from pinterest of a low, messy bun.... I thought they did a great job!
After finishing up with hair, it was time to head to the place where the show was being held to get my makeup done. I am not sure I have ever worn more makeup in my life....
Taylor was another one of the models-- we had a blast together!
Also a model, the character below, Brian.... omg he is hysterical! He and Eddie are good buddies and I loved hanging out with him-- and I got to meet his wife, who is just adorable!
After hair and make up, we had to do a few practice walks to get a feel for the stage. Brian nailed his walk though.
And then there was a pre party cocktail thing, so we all got dressed for that (I totally forgot about this part and almost forgot to bring a dress...).
So we got to go out and mingle and drink for a bit before the show started
And just like last year, so many sweet friends were there supporting a great cause (and me too!) and it made me super proud to claim them.
My momma was there also, thankfully. Love her-
The overhead lights were really awful and made picture taking not easy! We must have taken 24 of us to try and get a good one!
Then it was time for the models to head back and get dressed. This little number I wore was a Halston and it was insanely comfortable-- it's all one piece and it has pockets!
Taylor and I were set and ready! Her outfit is from Whildon and is super cute! Mine was from Uniquities, for any local peeps.
And now we wait....and smile!
After the show, every gathered in the lobby area and chatted and it was so fun! Sweet Katie was there and we were matching in our white.
We added Pippa to our white crew:
My Sally was there too in THE cutest dress ever. Everyone loved it!
And finally, a shot of almost all the models-- not sure who took it, but some people got cut out. It was a fun group!
It was a really fun night supporting a really great cause! I was honored to be asked to participate again this year. Even if it was as a fill in! hahaha
